Thank you to Dig-It Games for sponsoring this post. The honest opinions are my own. I remember growing up digging around the backyard hoping to dig up dinosaur bones long before I knew what an archaeologist was. Just thinking about it brings back some great memories, Dig-It! Games has come up with a game to help bring out the archaeologist in your child, Mayan Mysteries. Mayan Mysteries creator and Dig-It! Games founder, Suzi Wliczynski, is a former archaeologist and middle school teacher ... continue reading...
iTrace App Review
This just in . . . kids LOVE everything electronic, especially games. This post is sponsored by Elately. That’s why we have to check out any opportunity to learn about an app for the iPad (both Kora and Logan’s favorite) that is both fun and educational. That's why I'm excited about the iTrace app. This app will make learning how to write letters, numbers and word both fun and interesting for your children, while sneaking in that teaching factor. iTrace uses the iPad’s touch screen to ... continue reading...
Crazy Places Our Kids Have Left Our iPad
Thank you to Otterbox for sponsoring this post. The honest opinions are my own. When Kora & Logan were toddlers, one or the other would be up at various hours of the night and then they'd be up for the day at 5 am. As a result whichever parent got up with them was exhausted and did what they could to keep them entertained. Dave's trick was to occasionally let them play with his iPhone. It was amazing how quickly they learned to use the touchscreen to tap and swipe on the kid friendly ... continue reading...
Having Fun With The Official LEGO YouTube Channel
Thank you to BabyCenter for sponsoring this post. The honest opinions are my own. I remember playing with LEGO® bricks as a kid. My sister and I would build for a few minutes here or there and we'd make up stories about the little people. I'm glad to see that Kora & Logan have inherited my love of LEGO® bricks. However, they have taken it to a whole new level. They will sit and play with them for hours. They use their imaginations and build cars, houses, buildings, fruit, sunglasses, ... continue reading...
Traveling With My Mom: Our Chicago Road Trip
My parents and I love to travel. We often went on road trips and vacations when I was a kid and we have many special memories from those trips. I feel very lucky that I find joy in traveling and that my mom and I are able to take trips together every couple of years. Back in November we went to Chicago together. It was a great trip - even though we got a little lost initially, my mom had a bad cold, and it was freezing! Those things just make it all the more memorable though. We stayed at the ... continue reading...

Put Me In The Story Personalized Children’s Books Review
Books received. When I was little I visited my cousins' house often. Even though they were much older they always had the best toys and games. One of my favorite memories of their house was a personalized story book they had with all of their names in it. It was a regular children's story but instead of fictional characters it actually named my cousins. It was so neat and I always wanted a book just like it. That's why I am really excited about Put Me In The Story. The have a nice ... continue reading...
Simple Sausage & Spinach Soup Recipe
One of my favorite parts about winter is making homemade soup. I discovered how easy it is to make soup just a few years ago and every winter as the temperatures drop I pull out my slow cooker, pots, and pans and start cooking. Not only do I enjoy eating homemade soup but I like being able to control the amount of sodium as well. We use no- or low- sodium broth and have been happy to find it's just as flavorful without all that sodium. The other day I made a delicious sausage & spinach ... continue reading...
