Having Fun With The Official LEGO YouTube Channel

I remember playing with LEGO® bricks as a kid. My sister and I would build for a few minutes here or there and we’d make up stories about the little people. I’m glad to see that Kora & Logan have inherited my love of LEGO® bricks. However, they have taken it to a whole new level.

Lego StoreThey will sit and play with them for hours. They use their imaginations and build cars, houses, buildings, fruit, sunglasses, boats, and more. It’s really amazing what they make and how much fun they have with the bricks, wheels, doors, & windows.

Lego FunFor Kora’s birthday we took her to our local LEGO® store. It’s a bit of a drive so we hadn’t been there before and she was so excited! She picked out her own bricks and created 3 people.

Since the kids enjoy their bricks so much, I was thrilled to learn about The Official LEGO® Channel on YouTube.

Lego YoutubeIt’s a new channel and it already has over 500 videos with more being added daily. There are a variety of themes on the channel and some of our favorites from the LEGO® Club TV Shows theme includes:

  • Behind the Bricks – which takes them on a tour of the Master Builder Model Shop and the Model Building Plant in Prague as well as showing kids the creation of a Life Size Incredible Hulk, and more!
  • Brick Tips – which shows kids how to use the stop motion app
  • Cool Creations – which features amazing creations built by other kids
  • Sneak Peeks – of the upcoming Monster Fighters season.

Other themes on the channel include:

  • LEGO® Brand – featuring Happy Holiplay, How It All Started, World’s Largest Lemonade Stand, Bricks In Space, and much more.
  • Designer Videos – learn how a Designer makes a Super Soarer Jet, a Street Rebel Motorcycle, and watch Designers play with their creations.
  • Video Games – lots of video game trailers.
  • Board Games – a fun look at  board games like Creationary, Life of George, and Heroica
  • Fan Creations – video shorts created by fans
  • TV Spots – a collection of commercials
  • Mini Movies – featuring all the famous characters

I like that the channel is divided up into themes so that there is something for every child to enjoy.

I surprised them by showing the the channel and the playlist before they headed off to school this morning. They were so excited! I was glad I captured their reaction on video:

After watching for a couple of minutes Kora said, “This is amazing, Mom!”

The Official LEGO® Channel on YouTube is lots of fun and the playlists are such a wonderful feature that I know Kora & Logan will enjoy spending lots of time viewing the videos and using them to spark their imagination. I can’t wait to see what new creations they will now come up with!

  31. My youngers kids starting playing with one of their brother’s Lego’s and I would say that my 4th grade daughter is our biggest Lego fan. That is what she wanted and got for Christmas!

  32. Both of my stepsons. My youngest one brought me a picture frame he made from lego’s the other day… even had a backing, frame, and a stand on back!

  43. My 5 yr. old daughter loves Legos! We went to the Lego Store as a treat when her attitude (yes, she’s got a major attitude!) improved and I never knew putting tiny pieces together and building something great would really help a child’s test of Patience! Hoping to win!

  52. The biggest Lego fan in my house is definitely my daughter, her favorite thing to do is build castles with her box Lego’s for Girls. If I won this for her we’d totally be spending on the LEGO Princess Set.

  64. My SON! He loves his legos! He plays everyday for at least an hour building and building whatever his little mind can imagine, it’s incredible actually.

  134. All my kids were big Lego Fans. My youngest is 13 and still gets them out. We didnt get into all of the huge sets, as we just couldnt, but with 6 kids, we just added to the smaller sets until we had a large container. My grandson who is 5 is the Lego Lover. I’d love to win this for him for his 6th Birthday!

  159. Um, honestly… I think it’s me…but don’t tell my 8 year old because he loves legos as well! I have to catch myself from taking over when he’s in the middle of making them.

  161. our 12 year old is our biggest Lego fan. It used to be his big brother (14), but he’s too cool now. I *might* be second now ;] I do have lego creations on my desk that they built me and that I created myself.

  278. Well, I SHOULD say my 7-year-old son, but I may very well be the biggest Lego fan! I have been known to sit in his room by myself building wonderful creations! LOL

  281. That would be me :-) I have at least 30 Lego keychains that I have been collecting for yrs. I DO NOT share these with my kids. My eldest some was a huge Lego fan – always excited to get the Lego Magazine in the mail.

  295. I dont have anyone in my family BUT my friend Monica has a son named Ricky who has severe Tourette Syndrome and playing with legos help him distract away from his tics.. they soothe him. hes obsessed with legos, and he builds all kinds of interesting things. I would give this to him.

  299. My 14 year old son has wanted to be a Lego designer for about eight years now. He has written to the company several times to ask what kind of education he would need for that!
