VTech Safe & Sound Pan and Tilt Full Color Video Monitor Review

Knowing what and where Baby Z is getting into has become my most important task lately.  His second birthday is right around the corner and like most kiddos his age he is curious, adventurous, and getting into any and everything possible.  Keeping up with him and getting anything accomplished during the day seems like an insurmountable feat sometimes.

VTech Safe n Sound Baby Monitor received.

I have become extremely dependent on our baby monitor in aiding me in this task.  When ours went kaput a few weeks ago, I realized just how much peace of mind it provided.  Needless to say that’s why I’m excited about the VTech Safe n Sound Pan and Tilt Full Color Baby Monitor.

Having previously owned a different brand video monitor, I was really curious to see how this one stacked up.  It was so easy to set up! Pretty much insert battery, plug in and charge for at least 12 hours. We left ours charging overnight.  In the morning I turned both the monitor and camera on and they automatically linked! There are so many awesome features to this monitor I could go on for days. For your sake, I’ll just focus on a few of my favorites.

VTech Monitor Features

The parent unit is full of good stuff! The basics like volume and camera control are easy. The unit features a temperature indicator and multiple viewing options with the option add cameras so you can control up to 4 different cameras on one unit! It also features an intercom which has been great for when little man just needs to hear my voice.  Speaking of hearing, the sound quality on this unit is superb. There’s absolutely no static or interference. What is the best part about the parent unit? It can receive a clear signal up to 1,000 feet away!

VTech Monitor - CameraThe camera pans up to 270 degrees side-to-side and tilts as many as 124 degrees up and down sending crystal clear video up to 25 frames per second! There’s also a 2x zoom feature that is just as clear as the normal view.  The infrared LED allows me to check on Baby Z at night without disturbing him at all. The camera can be placed flat or mounted on the wall. A neat feature of the wall mount is the cord keeper. It keeps long cords taught and away from curious little fingers.

VTech Monitor Close Up DisplayWe couldn’t be happier with our new monitor! Allan and I are already planning on purchasing at least one other camera to help in the never ending surveillance of Baby Z. Get one for your precious little one, and tell us what the funniest thing is you ever caught your baby doing in the crib, with or without your monitor.

The quality of the screen looks great! Having this in my grandson’s room would really give me a piece of mind knowing he’s ok.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
