Elephant & Piggie The Thank You Book, Mo Willems Thankorama Fun, & A Prize Pack Giveaway

Thank you to Disney Publishing for selecting us as sponsored Mo Willems ambassadors. The honest opinions are our own.

Have you heard of Mo Willems? He’s the author of the Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus series as well as another series called Elephant and Piggie.

He has also always been Logan’s favorite author. When he was in preschool his teacher read them the books and he was hooked.

Recently he had to pick a favorite book to bring to school to read to the class. He chose Elephant and Piggie: I Broke My Trunk! He thought it was so funny that when he read it to us to practice, he could barely get through it without laughing.

That’s why when we recently received a shipment of Mo Mail I knew Logan would be thrilled. I had him open up the box and he was so excited!

Here’s a video of him opening up the mail.

A close up look at the everything that was in the box.

Logan immediately grabbed the book and laid down on the living room floor to read it. So cute!

The Thank You Book Elephant & Piggie

THE THANK YOU BOOK

In stores May 3rd

Gerald is careful. Piggie is not.
Piggie cannot help smiling. Gerald can.
Gerald worries so that Piggie does not have to.
Gerald and Piggie are best friends.

In The Thank You Book!, Piggie wants to thank EVERYONE. But Gerald is worried Piggie will forget someone . . . someone important.

Logan loved the Elephant & Piggie poster so much he hung it up in his room.

Elephant & Piggie PosterKora likes the Elephant & Piggie series too so they both happily wore their new Elephant & Piggie shirts to school the next day.

Elephant & Piggie Shirts & Book

I was very interested to learn that this will be the last book in the series and that this celebrated early-reader series has been awarded the Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal on two occasions (for There Is a Bird on Your Head! and Are You Ready to Play Outside?) as well as garnering five Geisel Honors (for We Are in a Book!, I Broke My Trunk!, Let’s Go for a Drive!, A Big Guy Took My Ball! and Waiting Is Not Easy!).

And that Mo Willems is a number one New York Times best-selling author and illustrator, who has been awarded a Caldecott Honor on three occasions, for Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale, and Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity.

Logan has been reading the Elephant & Piggie series for years and recommends the books to all kids. He says, “I like the series because the books are silly and fun, and in some of the books they add real life pictures mixed with cartoons and I always like that.”

Elephant & Piggie

Here’s a list of his favorite books from the series:

  • The Thank You Book
  • Today I Will Fly!
  • Watch Me Throw The Ball!
  • I Broke My Trunk
  • Can I Play Too
  • A Big Guy Took My Ball
  • Pigs Make Me Sneeze!
  • We Are In A Book!
  • Waiting Is Not Easy
  • My New Friend Is Fun!

To celebrate the release of The Thank You Book, May has been declared Thankorama month! Be sure to visit Thankorama.com for a fun virtual spinner which gives you thank you ideas, similar to this one.

ThankoRama Spinner

As well as “I Will Thank” speech bubbles like these.

Thankorama SignsYou can download a pink speech bubble here and a grey one here. Print and fill them out with who or what you are thankful for, then share a photo on social media using #Thankorama.

On Thankorama.com you can also learn how to draw Piggie and download fun activity sheets too!

And if you need a laugh check out this video!

We recommend The Thank You Book and the Elephant & Piggie series to anyone with children in their lives. While it’s an early reader series, Logan is in third grade and still adores the books. Mo Willems has a great sense of humor (as you can see in the video above!) and he has a talent for writing in a way that draws kids in and keeps them smiling all the way through.
