Why I Love Hatchbacks – Hyundai Elantra GT Review

I am not sure why, but hatchbacks have always had a special place in my heart! I am just fond of them and always have been. Recently, I was able to feed that fondness when we able to test drive for a week the new 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT.Hyundai Elantra GT Front

At first glance this hatchback is a pretty bold car, the headlights stand out and give this car some major character. The Elantra GT is a compact hatchback that holds its own in this market which is growing in competition. The Elantra GT looks like it will be equally comfortable going to the office as it would be going to the lake for a camping and fishing adventure.Hyundai Elantra GT

I guess that is what I love about hatchbacks, you just feel like they are up to any and every challenge in front of them.

The Hyundai Elantra GT is a fun car to drive, at 173 HP it has a bit more pickup than I was expecting in this compact hatchback, so that was a very welcome surprise. Of course, the tradeoff is slightly lower gas mileage than some of the competitors in the same category. Mileage was still pretty good, Hyundai lists the mpg at 24 city and 33 highway. I experienced just under 35 on the highway and hovered around 24-25 for city driving. So, the gas mileage is still good, but hopefully will improve a bit in the future.Hyundai Elantra GT Rear

The exterior of the Elantra GT is bold and stunning, and that feeling carries over to the interior as well. For a compact car, it is surprisingly roomy and comfortable.

Where the Elantra GT really makes sense as the next car in your driveway is the combination of performance, tech and value you get with it. The Elantra GT has a base price of $18,800, that is for the standard version, if you want the automatic, the base price goes up $1,000.Hyundai Elantra GT

However, you do get a lot of car for the money with the Hyundai Elantra GT. If you are in the market for a new car that can go with you to a business meeting, then happy hour and then camping, you have to test drive the new Elantra GT, it is truly a go anywhere kinda car that you will love.Hyundai Elantra GT Side

    Looks like a nice car

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
