Kia K900 Luxury Sedan Review

A few weeks ago we packed up the kids along with my sister’s family, Dave’s mom, and my parents, and we hopped on a plane and headed down to Florida for a week. It was an amazing vacation and we all have memories we’ll cherish for years to come.

Even though we flew down to Florida, we spent a lot of time on the road. We went to amusement parks in Orlando as well as the beach up in Clearwater, it was a great fun and certainly made us road warriors.

Getting to Clearwater Beach on a beautiful sunny day that also happens to be a Sunday and Mother’s Day is no joke! That’s why we were excited to be given the chance to test drive for a week, the Kia K900.

Kia K900When we picked up the car we commented on how sleek it was. It has a nice, eye-catching, stylish, aerodynamic look to it.

When we opened the doors we all gasped! It is gorgeous inside! Beautiful detail. The latest in technology. And so spacious too. Dave made a walk through video to tell you more about it and to share some of its fantastic features.

Be sure to watch through the end to see the four separate cameras using surround view technology. It gives you an amazing bird’s eye view of the vehicle even though you are in it!

Logan loved the car too and wanted to be like his dad and make a video of his favorite features from the front seat. Here you’ll see the Panoramic Sunroof, Sun Shades, and Rear Center Console Controls for Climate & Adjustable Seats and much more.

He did a great job showing everything off – check it out!

As you can see we are very impressed with so many of the features of the K900 and even though we were in gadget heaven in this car, one thing that received comment after comment from all 11 of our family members when they rode in it was how comfortable, how smooth, and how quiet the ride was.

It felt like you were driving on a cloud.

Even in the busiest stop and go traffic on the way to the beach or navigating the busy parking lots at amusement parks, this Kia was so comfortable the kids kept falling asleep everywhere we went!

Thanks to the smooth ride we were able to enjoy our 3 hour round trip drive to Clearwater and had so much room we didn’t have to do the normal bend and stretch routine after getting out of the car. The fluid ride made us feel like we were riding in first class.

Dave showed off many of our favorite features of the Kia K900 but here’s a closer look at some of those in the video as well as a few more:

Keep Your Eyes On The Road With The Head Up Display

This was fascinating, felt very futuristic, and was incredibly convenient and helpful. Your speed and simplified GPS directions are projected on the bottom center of the windshield in front of the driver. This means you never have to take your eyes off the road to check your speed or where your next turn.

Spacious & Roomy

Kia K900 Front Seat

Kia K900 BackseatAs you can see this vehicle offers a lot of space for everyone in the car. Both the front seats and backseats have lots of leg room as well as elbow space.

16 Way Adjustable Power Driver’s Seat

The driver’s seat has so many adjustable options that you are sure to find just the right fit and it’s easy to do so with the door mounted power buttons. The front seats also offer heat and cooling options too.

Power Reclining, Heated, & Ventilated Rear Seats

Kia K900 Backseat Power SeatsNow this is something I’ve never seen before – adjustable backseats. We loved that either adults or children could ride in the back and adjust the seats with the power buttons in the door. This was a wonderful addition to the level of comfort in the backseat. The rear seats are also heated and ventilated back seats keep you warm or cool as needed.

It’s all controlled through the rear center arm rest as well.

Fantastic and Fun Tech

While I mentioned the Head Up Display above the K900 also comes with other fantastic and fun tech. When you first turn on the car the LCD speedometer and tachometer appear and zoom into focus. It’s a neat little feature. Check it out:

Dave mentioned the camera system in the YouTube video above so if you didn’t see that yet be sure to give it a look. It’s amazing! It’s like you are looking at the car from the top and it’s incredibly helpful in busy parking lots.

The UVO GPS was great too. The 9.2” display was very clear and easy to read and we liked that you could clearly see the signs ahead as well as what your next turn would be. It’s also voice activated which makes it easy to use and you can get the UVO app on your smartphone to check out enhanced features.

While it is a small thing I thought the checkered flag marking your destination was a nice touch too. Just shows how much attention to detail there is in this vehicle.

Three Zone Automatic Climate Control

Kia K900 Climate & Radio ControlsThe driver, front passenger, and those in the backseat can all ride in comfort at their desired temperature. Rear passengers can use the center console controls and benefit from the B-pillar air vents.

Joy Stick Control For Display

Kia K900 Display ControlsThe display is easy to use and to move around it you use a joystick like button that also spins to help you go through selections quickly. It’s surround by helpful buttons that can jump you to where you need to go with the press of a finger.

Blind Spot Detection

Kia K900 Blind Spot Detection System BSD

Kia K900 Blind Spot Detection SystemYou can see this in the side view mirrors. The icon lights up orange as shown in the second photo when there is a vehicle in your blindspot. There is also an alert that beeps as well.

There is also Rear Cross Traffic Alert that beeps when the system detects a vehicle crosses behind you. As well as a Lane Departure Warning which uses a rear view camera to read and help analyze the road ahead and it beeps if you veer out of your lane without activating your turn signal. We thought these are brilliant safety features and now want them on our next new car!

Shift By Wire Gear Selector & Electronic Parking Break

Kia K900 Center Front Seat

Kia K900 Drive Mode SelectThis took a bit to get used to but once we got the hang of it we loved it. The gear shift doesn’t actually move all that much. In fact, to put it in park you simply push a button. It felt like the first time I used a push button start – a bit odd and futuristic at first then after using it for a while completely comfortable and sensible. If you need to set the electronic parking break the button near the gear selector makes it easy.

Steering Wheel Mounted Buttons

Kia K900 Steering WheelYou can control audio, cruise control, and hands free phone options from you steering wheel.

Power Trunk Open and CloseKia K900 Trunk Button

It was nice to have the option to open the trunk from the keyfob and to close it with the push of the button on the inside.

Road Trip Worthy Trunk SpaceK900 Trunk

When we picked the car up we immediately filled it with our suitcases and couldn’t believe how much room was leftover. There’s still space on the sides and behind.

Kia K900 Trunk Space

It’s a big trunk! It has cargo nets that you can use to secure items as well so they won’t roll around.

Kia K900 Cargo NetWe also had to make a huge grocery shopping trip to feed all 11 of us for a week. I was curious to see how much the trunk could hold and was very impressed to find it all fit with some room to spare!

Kia K900 Grocery Trip

Keyless Entry and Push Button Smart Key

Kia K900 Key FobThis is starting to become pretty standard but will always remain two of my favorite features. So convenient when your hands are full of groceries or kids carryon bags. As long as you have the keyfob on you, simple walk up to the car and it will unlock for you. Sit down, push the start button, and off you go.

Kia K900 Push Button Start

Other features we liked include:

  • Panoramic Tilt/Slide Sunroof with Power Retractable Sun Shade – allows everyone in the car a panoramic view of the gorgeous Florida blue skies and sunshine; you can see it in Logan’s video above
  • Solar Controlled Glass – on windshield, doors, and rear windows helps reduce interior heat on sunny days
  • Dynamic Bending Light – moves the headlight beam into upcoming turns to improve your visibility when turning
  • Advanced Smart Cruise Control – sense how far the car in front of you is and the system automatically applies the brakes to maintain a predetermined distance and will even bring the car to a complete stop if necessary
  • Rear Passenger Sunshades & Power Operated Rear Window Sunshade – keeps the sun glare out of the eyes of the rear passenger and the rear window sunshade can be operated by those in the front or through the rear center console controls; also shown in Logan’s video above

We loved our time with the Kia K900 and it made our trip even more memorable. We were able to get around in comfort and we recommend it to anyone looking for a new vehicle in the luxury car market. It offers a quiet, comfortable, smooth ride as well as the latest in tech & gadgets and plenty of room for everyone and all of their luggage with room to spare.
