Vionic Shoes: Tide II Sandals Review

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

Several years ago I experienced severe hip pain that would shoot down my leg after walking a short distance. I am not one to sit on the sidelines when it comes to playing with my grandchildren, but I found that I often had to sit down in order to relieve the pain. That meant playing kickball from a chair! It was so frustrating. That’s why I was excited to receive for review a pair of Vionic shoes and I have been a big fan ever since.

Once I put the shoes on, I discovered I could walk farther and longer with less pain. I have received a couple of pair of their athletic shoes and I’m impressed with their lightness as well as the Orthoheel Technology.

Vionic Sandals

Sandals received.

I am thrilled to tell you that they now have sandals available and when Vionic asked if I would like to receive a pair of them to review, without hesitation I said, “Absolutely!”

The shoes I chose are the bronze metallic Tide II Toe Post Sandal.

Just like their athletic shoes, their sandals feature the Orthoheel Technology. This is podiatrist designed support built into each shoe. According to the Vionic site, oftentimes the pain in our feet, legs or even back are caused by the inward rotation of our feet, which then causes the arch of our foot to elongate. The Orthoheel raises the arch and straightens out the foot, which then relieves the pain.

The Tide II Toe Post Sandals are amazingly light and comfortable. I have worn flip flop type shoes before that have caused blisters between my toes, but this is not an issue with these sandals. Instead of a rubber material pressing against my toes the Vionic Sandals have a woven toe post and foam lined strap.

The best thing about them as well as their athletic shoes is that they do not look like “old lady shoes”. They are stylish and it is almost impossible to tell that there is anything “ortho” about them.

I am now ready for my Memorial Day weekend with the grandchildren, whether we’re watching parades, playing in the backyard, or taking a hike in the woods. My feet will be happy. All it has to do is warm up here in Michigan.

Visit VionicShoes.com to learn more about the Tide II Post Sandals, Orthoheel Technology, & to read another inspiring #SoleStory.

I had the same problem with my hip.. painful walking! i was watching QVC and saw the Dr explain the foot turn and how these shoes and insoles work! A flippin miracle! It took a bit but now i’m walking pain free. I recommend you buy the shoe insole inserts and replace your other sneakers and shoes. i have 2 pair and just threw out old insoles and replace with orthaheel insole (same company by the way) and all my shoes are perfect! if the insole isn’t replaceable in any of my shoes i don’t wear them..

So glad to hear you had great results as well! I love hearing other stories like this and how simply changing your shoes can make such a difference. Great tip on the insoles. I haven’t tried that yet but will do so. Thanks! – Judy

[…] Vionic Shoes: Tide II Sandals Review & My SoleStory […]

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
