Family Fun With the HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart All-in-One

Touchscreen technology is every where these days and I’m excited to say it’s even come to desktop computers. The HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart AiO is an amazing all-in-one computer that is perfect for the whole family.

HP Envy 23 TouchSmart ReviewWhen it arrived I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set up. I remember the days of dealing with numerous cords and start-up disks. The HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart AiO has one power cord. That’s it!

HP Envy 23 TouchSmartI had it out of the box, on my desk, plugged in and up and running in less than 2 minutes. It took me longer to open the box than it did to power up this all-in-one.

I love that there’s no CPU tower. Everything is right in the flat screen monitor. There’s even a Slim slot Blu-ray player and Super Multi DVD burner and more packed all right into the monitor.

HP Envy 23The touchscreen on this computer is fantastic. It makes Windows 8 a breeze and we’ve enjoyed customizing our start-up stream by selecting our favorite programs and setting them as tiles. Now when we sit down everything we need is right in front of us. We’ve got live tiles scrolling news, sports, and weather, there are tiles that link to our favorite HP Games and it’s one click to pull up Netflix.

HP Envy 23 TouchSmart Windows 8We even have Skype as one of our tiles. This came in handy the other day when my mom wanted to wish Kora a happy birthday. My parents live in Michigan while we are in Cleveland so we often use Skype to connect. The kids love being able to see Grandma & Grandpa on the 23-inch high definition display. It’s is the closest thing to actually having them here with us.

How cute is that?

They even spent time to share laughs over a card guessing game.

HP Envy 23 TouchSmart ReviewsWhen I was connecting to Skype the other day I had fun checking out the settings and features of the HP TrueVision HD webcam. I knew it was something Kora & Logan would enjoy so I thought it would be fun to use it and the YouCam app to capture the kids singing a Christmas carol and then email it to my parents and other family members for a video holiday card.

FreshPaint is fun too. Kora & Logan were excited to color right on the screen and on top of their own photographs. They can even print out and save their creations.

HP Envy Fresh Paint

HP Envy FreshPaint ReviewI can’t end the post without showing you just how amazing the HP ENVY Touchsmart AiO touchscreen is so I recorded a video to best capture how easy it is to use and how it works.

We’ve enjoyed every moment of this all-in-one and I look forward to learning even more about it in the coming weeks. We love the HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart All-in-One and recommend it to anyone looking for a new desktop.

What about you? Do you have any questions about the HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart AiO? If so, leave them in the comments below and I’ll do my best to answer them.

That is so awesome! We just set ours up yesterday, but I think it is an envy 20 not a 23. It is still way awesome though. I’ll have to see if they have anything like FreshPaint on ours. My boys would love that!

I remember looking at these a few years back when I bought my desktop, they were quite pricey then. I wonder if these are falling out of favor with all the handheld touchpads! Reminds me of the overhead smartboard that they use in my son’s school.

I’ve never used a touch screen, do you find it easier than a mouse? Anything you don’t like about it?

Looks awesome! I recently had to get a new work laptop and wish I could have bought one with the touch screen feature. Windows 8 is OK, but would be a lot easier to use with the touch screen.

I’ll definitely be watching for the giveaway – we need a new family desktop, too, and this sounds like a great model!
