Cleveland Botanical Garden Glow Review

The holidays are here and it’s always fun to get out and about and attend festive events and attractions.

Cleveland Botanical Garden Glow

Admission provided.

One of our favorite places to visit in Northeast Ohio is the Cleveland Botanical Garden. A few years ago we were there during the holidays and enjoyed the festive decorations and gingerbread house display. That’s why we were excited about their new holiday event Glow Wintershow 2012. With the holiday season here we couldn’t wait to attend!

Glow has even brighter and more magical additions to the garden’s traditional Wintershow. Along with the beautiful trees, holiday flowers, and gingerbread houses there is now The Garden Express Train Ride, a 25-foot evergreen decorated with live pointsettias, a chance to make your own gingerbread house, live holiday music and carolers, unique treats, even more festive plants.

We were pleased to see the lobby and entrance decorated beautifully when we walked in.

Cleveland Botanical Garden Store

Cleveland Botanical Garden Store ReviewThe 25 foot tree adorned with poinsettias was beautiful and many families were posing in front of it and snapping photos that I’m certain will end up in Christmas cards this year.

Cleveland Botanical Garden Christmas TreeThe gingerbread houses displayed throughout the building were beautiful and each had a unique and creative theme and all were full of detail and imagination.

Cleveland Botanical Garden Gingerbread Houses

Cleveland Botanical Garden PointsettiaOne of our favorite parts of the Cleveland Botanical Garden is the Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse. We all find it fun walking through the Spiny Desert of Madagascar, seeing the turtles, and trying to find the chameleon.

Cleveland Botanical Garden Chameleon

Cleveland Botanical Garden ChameleonsWe also adore the Rainforest of Costa Rica which is filled with butterflies and birds. You know it’s a really lucky day when a butterfly decides to land on you. We always go in hoping and sometimes it happpens. This visit it didn’t, but we still had a wonderful time and loved the addition of the holiday flowers throughout the glass house. The butterflies did too!

See the butterfly?

There it is!

Cleveland Botanical Garden More ButterfliesWhen we were there a trio was playing lovely holiday music against a beautiful twinkling backdrop. It was even “snowing” a bit in the room which the kids thought were fun & made for some great Christmas photos.

Cleveland Botanical Garden ChristmasAt the end of our visit we had all worked up an appetite and were thrilled to see the selection of holiday goodies for sale. We bought Kora & Logan gingerbread men and their smiles were as big as the ones on their cookies.

Cleveland Botanical Garden GlowWe had a wonderful time at the Cleveland Botanical Garden Glow Wintershow and would recommend it to anyone in the area or from out of town. It’s a beautiful, fun-filled, and festive holiday event that is picturesque and a perfect way to slow down and spend some good old-fashioned family time together during this busy time of year.

The Denver Botanic Gardens has Blossoms of Light every year. They put over a million lights on the trees & bushes and it’s beautiful.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
