Kia Sorento Review

Recently my mom and I took a road trip to Chicago together. We try to take a trip together every couple of years and this time we thought a trip to a big city while it prepares for the holidays would be fun. It’s about 5 hours from Cleveland to Chicago and we were excited to test drive for a week, the Kia Sorento.

Kia Sorento ReviewThe storage space in the Sorento was amazing. The trunk was large and easily held all of our luggage for our 4 day trip with room to spare.

Kia Sorento TrunkI was also excited to see that the floor of the trunk folds up into a third row. This is perfect for when we are visiting Kora and Logan’s cousins and we need just a bit more room. Being that the seats sit right on the floor there is no dangling leg room, but it’s perfect for children. I know Kora & Logan wouldn’t mind at all if they got to sit in the “way back.” It’s easy to get the third row into position too, just tilt the middle row seats forward a bit and then pull on the strap on the back of the third row seats and that’s it. You’re third row is ready to go.

Kia Sorento 3rd RowI took a short video to show off a few of our other favorite features including Keyless Entry & Push Button Start, Power Folding Side Mirrors, Sirius Radio, Dual Climate Control, Easy to Read Navigational Map, Bluetooth, and more.

We enjoyed the spaciousness of the Sorento. As you can see there is plenty of room in the second row and  a good distance behind it to the 3rd row. This is nice and gives everyone space of their own eliminating the dreaded, “She’s touching me!” often heard on road trips.

Kia Sorento Second Row

Kia Sorento InteriorI also liked that the second and third rows had their own vents as well. These would make everyone happy being able to control their own heat and air vents.

Kia Sorento VentsThe steering wheel controls made it easy to access a variety of features without taking our hands off the wheel.

Kia Sorento Steering WheelThe touchscreen in the center console was really easy to use and you can see me scroll through the various options in the video above.

Kia Sorento Touch ScreenThe sun roof was large and we were happy to see the sun shine through and the beautiful blue sky once the rain finally stopped.

Kia Sorento Sun RoofI’ll forever miss the Keyless Entry and Push Button Start. It was a wonderful few days not having to dig for keys in the bottom of our purses or juggling shopping bags while trying to find the right button on the keyfob to hit. Starting the Sorento with the push of a button was a breeze too and so convenient. Going back to our old vehicles and having to put a key into the ignition feels so archaic now!

Kia Sorento Push ButtonWe enjoyed the Kia Sorento and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new vehicle. It’s roomy without being too big, it offers lots of storage space, it drives smoothly, there are vents to please everyone, and the optional 3rd row makes it the perfect family crossover.

I would love to have a keyless entry and push button start. My Mom rented a car and it had that feature, I loved it!

we had the Sorrento a couple months back and I loved it. It fit my 3 kids and our stuff perfectly. I can’t wait to get rid of my minivan and go for something smaller and easier to handle like the Sorrento.

It looks very spacious. We have a car with a 3rd row that folds up, but it has nowhere near the amount of room the Sorento has.

I almost bought this car (I LOVE IT), but decided on the RAV4 instead. All price driven. $100 difference a month and Toyota had a deal I could not pass up! Had money been no object I would have decided on the Kia hands down!

You know Kia’s used to be considered a low-end car. But the more I see of it in commercials and reviews like yours – I see how it’s a quality car.
I’d love to test drive one too and see how it works for our family.

My parents have a Sorento. They really like it but it is too small for our family. We drive the Sedona and love it!

WOW –you were so lucky to spend the time with your Mom and have a great car to ride around in to do it! thanks for sharing. I like the one button start engine and the GPS–I’d rather give up my cell phone before I gave up my GPS!

We have the Sorento and it is my favorite car I’ve ever had! The third row is much-needed for us as we have 4 kids and I love that we can convert it to fit whatever we need to tote around! The keyless entry & push start has me spoiled, yes!
