GreatCall’s 5Star Urgent Response Review

As a parent these days it’s important to be very diligent about the safety of our children when they are out and about. There are so many scary stories out there that I watch Kora & Logan like a hawk whenever we are in a crowded place.

Great Call 5Star Review

Two GreatCall 5Star devices & service received.

Even though I always know where they are, all it takes is one moment of distraction for something to happen. That’s why I’m excited about GreatCall’s 5Star Urgent Response devices & service.

I love GreatCall’s 5Star Urgent Response. It’s one of my favorite products that we’ve reviewed here on 2 Wired 2 Tired. It’s a GPS enabled device that’s smaller than a flip phone and it enables you or your children to get help anytime, anywhere.

Some of its fantastic features include:

  • Simple, one touch operation
  • Built-in patented GPS technology that is activated when you press the button
  • Connection with 5Star agents trained in CPR & other emergencies
  • High performance microphone & speaker so conversations are loud & clear
  • Powered by one of the nation’s largest reliable networks
  • No cell phone necessary
  • No contracts, no cancellation fees
  • No equipment to install
  • Affordable monthly service

I was happy to hear that the 5Star agents:

  • Are highly-trained emergency response professionals
  • Are certified in CPR and other emergency procedures
  • Can conference in family members or friends
  • Can connect you with 911 and dispatch 911 emergency services
  • Can connect you to a live registered nurse
  • Will stay on the line with you until the situation is resolved
  • Are 100% U.S. based

For older children and adults, the 5Star is small enough to:

  • Fit in a pocket
  • Put in your purse
  • Attach to a keyring
  • Clip to a backpack
  • Put on your nightstand

GreatCall 5Star Urgent ResponseThere are also accessories which allow you to wear it around your neck in waterproof pouch keeping it dry even in the shower or you can wear it like a watch using a wristband.

5Star is endorsed by John Walsh, host of America’s Most Wanted and co-founder of the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children.

5Star Urgent ResponseYou can read some of his back-to-school safety tips here. He also made a video to share his thoughts about the 5Star, to explain its features, and to share some ways it can help keep children safe.

I love that the 5Star as a parent because I know that when Kora and Logan have it on them they are able to reach help whenever they need it. It’s a wonderful device that offers great peace of mind for older children, adults, and the elderly. There is no worry that a cell phone call won’t connect, that the person on the other end of the phone doesn’t hear their phone ring, that the person you’ve called can’t figure out your location.

The 5Star is the solution to all of these problems by offering 24/7 availability, certified help and a patented GPS locator. All this makes me feel better as Kora & Logan are getting older and they will one day be riding their bikes to friend’s houses, playing at the park, or walking to school on their own. The 5Star will make me feel much more comfortable that they are able to connect with help if they need it and simply by pushing the button their location will immediately determined.

5Star Urgnet Response ReviewI highly recommend GreatCall’s 5Star Urgent Response to everyone. This device and service has so much to offer that everyone can benefit from it. Even if you never have to push the button, just knowing that help is a click away is worth the peace of mind it offers.

I’m happy to share that GreatCall is donating $1 of every 5Star purchased to the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.

I’m also I’m excited to offer the discount below:

I ordered the 5 Star Response unit, it came and I was looking forward to using it. When I tried activate it I was told that they didn’t have service at my Zip code area so I couldn’t activate it. I returned it to Walmart.
    A disappointed customer.

This sounds like a really great product. My six year old is getting involved in all sorts of extracurricular activities, school field trips and I can’t always chaperone. I’d feel more secure knowing she had something like this in case of emergency.

These sound like a great idea for lots of people. I for one think it would be ideal for my elderly grandmother.

With my daughter getting older, she is wanting more freedom, I think these would be awesome to own! I would know she had away to get help if need be.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
