Fun Things To Do In Seattle For Families

I am an official Travelocity Gnational Gnomad offering sponsored tips and inspiration to fellow travel enthusiasts. The honest opinions are my own.

Seattle Chihuly Garden & Glass

Seattle, Washington is a destination that should be at the top of your family vacation planning list. It is an exciting city that is surrounded by lots of natural beauty and there is so much to see and do that there is something for everyone. It is a place that is sure to leave lasting memories, making it a wonderful family vacation destination. That’s why I’m excited to share these fun things to do in Seattle for families.

Space Needle & SkyCity

Seattle Space NeedleSeattle offers a number of fun ways to see the city and the Space Needle is a family favorite. Travel upwards 520 feet for a spectacular view of the city and even Mount Rainier. It’s open Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. – 12 a.m., so you can travel to the top during the light of day or enjoy the city lights at night. You can even dine at 500 feet at the SkyCity Restaurant. The restaurant revolves, giving you a panoramic view of the city, and every visit to SkyCity includes a free trip to the Space Needle’s observation deck. Before your trip, check out the Pano Cam on the Space Needle’s website, where you can get a virtual near real time panoramic view, check out the timelapse, and see best views from the past.

Chihuly Garden & Glass

While at the Space Needle, this nearby attraction is not to be missed — Chihuly Garden & Glass. It is a long-term exhibit in the Seattle Center and is one that your family will never forget. It is a comprehensive collection of colorful and vibrant glass artwork from Dale Chihuly. Outside, you can wander through the gardens and see the sunlight shine through the sculptures among beautiful camellias, daylilies, fuschias, and more. Inside, intricate and beautiful glasswork hangs from the ceiling or is showcased in the eight galleries and Glasshouse. There is also a theater with videos that show Chihuly’s working process and you can watch the team work in the hotshop and create these memorable works of art.

Never been to to space needle but I’ve heard there’s a spectacular view up there of the city! I’ll have to remember to visit there next time I’m in Seattle

We went on a family vacation to Seattle and had the time of our lives. I love it there! One of my sons is a pilot and I think he died and went to heaven when we went to the The Museum of Flight. We loved the Chihuly Garden and Glass too. Did you get a chance to ride on the ferries? Pike Place Market? I am glad you all had a good time.

I love going to Seattle and spending the day! The city is breathtaking and the Space Needle is a must to go see. I love the restaurant that moves when you are eating. Such a view of the City that is so cool when on Top of the Space Needle!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
