I love wearable technology, I truly believe it has the ability to enhance our lives in many different ways including health, fitness, productivity and more. I love seeing how some of the watches have evolved, I have tried many of the watches on the market, they are all great, but a common theme seems to be they have a bulky or awkward fit, need to be charged daily or every other day, and just like a Gremlin, you have to keep them away from water.

That’s why I was excited to be sent for review a smartwatch that challenges all of these current smartwatch issues. After using the Withings Activité Pop Smartwatch for a couple of weeks, I have a very high opinion of it, and love it.

First off, it is a good looking watch, it has a classic circular face, it is analog, and it feels good on your wrist. It fits like the basic watch that you grew up with.

However the Activité Pop is anything but simple. Hidden behind the fun colors it’s available in is a brilliant piece of machinery that helps you embrace a healthy lifestyle. Here are my top reasons why you need to check out the Activité Pop by Withings.

8 Month Battery Life

Yes, you read that correctly, this Activité Pop doesn’t need charging. You simply replace the watch battery every 8 months or so. This is so convenient, you can leave it on, sleep while wearing it, and it keeps on going.

Waterproof

The Activité Pop can go everywhere with you. It is advertised as a great smartwatch for swimming, but that’s not really my cup of tea, however, there is no concern with the Activité Pop in the shower, or while having fun on the lake. I comfortably wear my watch while paddle boarding, canoeing and the occasional swim in the lake.

Activity Tracker

You are able to track your steps for the day, you can see your progress on your phone with the app and with the mini analog feedback loop on your watch face. The mini loop goes from 0 – 100 with increment markers on the 10’s. You can pretty easily glance down and see what percentage of your daily steps goal you are at. The best thing is that it’s there all the time for you to see with a quick glance, without hitting any buttons.

Silent Alarm

Next to the battery life, this is my favorite feature. Your watch vibrates and wakes you up without the piercing sound of your alarm. This is great because it is a gentle wake up and it doesn’t wake up your spouse either.

Sleep

The Activité Pop also tracks your sleep. You are able to track your total time asleep and total time in bed. In addition you are able to see how quickly you fall asleep, how many times you wake up, and also a breakdown of your light sleep and deep sleep.

More with App and Other Withings Devices

The Withings app is pretty impressive too. It does a great keeping and displaying everything in one easy to understand format. The Activité Pop uses Bluetooth to sync to your phone. The app also connects with the other Withings Products to help you keep up on your health. Connect to a scale and camera to get air quality along with home security. I will be reviewing these 2 products in the near future.

The Withings Activité Pop combines a timeless look with the latest and greatest technology. The battery life and its waterproof setup distinguish the Activité Pop amongst its competition. It is amazing to be able to use a smartwatch for 8 months and take it everywhere with you.

The Activité Pop comes in at a great price too. Priced at $149.95 it is right in the middle of its competition. For everything it offers, I think this is a very generous price point.
