Online Safety Tech

How To Safeguard Your Children’s Mobile Devices

As a tech blogger, I’m very aware of how diligent parents need to be about children and mobile safety. I keep up with tech news on a regular basis and every day I learn about something else to watch out for. As a parent this concerns me greatly. Kora & Logan love playing on their tablets and one day they will be getting their own phones so I want to make sure that I’m aware of the safety issues and that I’m doing everything I can to keep them protected.

curbi is a fantastic and easy way to safeguard your children’s mobile devices.

Curbi’s mission is to provide the most advanced and capable parent control system on the market. It allows you to remotely manage your child’s mobile online experience. You can easily stop in-app purchases, block adult content, and set boundaries.

When you first set up curbi you decide what web content is permanently blocked. You can edit the list at any time. It’s very easy to to block specific content with just a click. You can even add specific sites to the list as well.

Curbi Blocked CategoriesI was happy to learn that curbi’s filter is updated constantly to include new websites – we all know how quickly things change in the online world so this is fantastic.

You can also set up schedules and time limits for your child’s phone or tablet time – setting rules to control access at school time, bed time, etc.

Curbi RulesYou can even set up limits for time wasting sites, games, and apps. They can be restricted and allowed for the times of day you wish.

Curbi Bedtime RulesOne of my favorite features is that you can monitor what apps and sites your child is using and how long they are spending on them.

Curbi MonitoringYou also receive a detailed weekly reports about app usage and recent app installations and that you can do all your monitoring from you own iPhone or iPad or on the curbi website.

You can also disable features on your child’s phone including the camera, the iTunes store, and in-app purchases.

If necessary you can even put your child’s entire phone on timeout and block all access to the internet.

Curbi TimeoutAnd if your child tries to bypass the curbi controls on their device, curbi will detect this and notify you so you.

I’m impressed that you can easily set up different devices with different settings. So if you have kids of varying ages you can set the appropriate rules for each of them.

Curbi DevicesYou can safeguard all of your children with the curbi app for only $6.99 a month.

I highly recommend the curbi app to those looking for a way to safe guard the children in their life on their mobile devices. I love that it allows parents to set up almost any kind of rules and restrictions they feel necessary – they can set time limits, block sites and apps, monitor usage, and more.

GET IT NOW, DON’T WAIT!

You can try it before you buy it: There is a 14 day free trial when you download the curbi app or sign up online.

This app is pretty amazing with so many awesome things that can be done with it to help a child be safe online. I like that I can monitor and see what my child is doing and what they download and how much time they are spending online!

Haven’t the need yet. My teen’s good at handling this responsibility.

    One amazing app! Love it!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
