Are you looking for info about the Susan G. Komen 3 Day For The Cure Preview Expo? I am very excited to announce that Energizer for the selected me as Cleveland’s Keep Going Blogger for the walk. They are providing a participation fee and I am sharing my experiences about what it’s like to prepare for, train for, and participate in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day For The Cure!

Last weekend I attended the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure Preview Expo in Michigan. I would have loved to attend the Cleveland Expo, however it took place too early for me to attend.

If you are a first time walker, I highly recommend attending an Expo in your area to alleviate any nerves you may have about walking. The Preview Expo was well-run, incredibly informative, and free!

I registered for the Expo online and printed out my ticket as instructed. When I arrived at check-in they took my ticket and that was it. They asked if Tired Dad Dave wanted to come in as well, all he had to do was sign in to attend, but he had work to do.

The Preview Expo took place from 11:00 am – 2 pm and was in a large indoor soccer arena. The field was divided up into about different sections. There were areas for outfitters, with New Balance having an impressive display of clothing, gear, and shoes all with a pink ribbon theme.

There were areas for demonstrations including tent assembly and a “What to Pack” workshop.

There was an inspiration section which included photo albums from past walks and a poster board filled with articles from local newspapers about 3-Day for the Cure events, fundraisers, and walkers.

There were many other displays as well including an area for fundraising ideas, a camp layout display, sign-making materials, a letter mailing table, and more.

Upon first walking onto the soccer field, I thought I would do one lap, attend the classroom workshops, and leave for the day, but the tables on the field kept drawing me in. Every time I thought I’d seen it all, another walker nearby would ask the volunteer working the table a question and I learn something new or I’d read a bit of info I missed the first time.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post…The 3-Day Preview Expo Workshops.

I wish I had known about the expo earlier, I would have been there with you! Unfortunately we booked our camping trip and it would have cost us much more than I was willing to pay to cancel the plans. I even thought about leaving camp for a few hours to attend, but it would have been an hour drive minimum to do that, so I opted to miss it.

What city in Michigan was it?

The 3-Day for the Cure Preview Expo was in Pontiac, which worked out perfectly because I have family in the area. I know you are from Michigan, is it anywhere near you?

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog originally got its name because my husband, Dave, and I had two kids born a year apart. Back then, we always joked that “the kids were too wired and we were too tired.”

Fast forward to today—those two kids are navigating college life (how did that happen so fast?!), and our house is a little quieter. But the story didn't stop there. Now that I'm a 50+ mom and an empty nester-in-training, the definition of 2 Wired 2 Tired has evolved.

Today I'm wired for new adventures, Disney magic, smart technology, and unforgettable travel experiences and I’m completely tired of bad gadgets, boring trips!

Whether you're a midlife mom looking for the ultimate 50+ Disney World guide, planning a relaxing Michigan Lake Life getaway, organizing a college dorm packing list, or just looking for a killer recipe to enjoy with a great book, you're in the right place.

The chaotic toddler years might be behind us, but the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here. Let's tackle this next exciting chapter together!
