Spring Cleaning? Make Some $$$ With These Apps

Everyone likes to use spring as an excuse to clean and get rid of all the extra “stuff” that was picked up over the last year. I fully agree with this idea and the way I see it, you might as well make a couple of bucks while gaining some extra space in the home.Spring Cleaning Apps

Everyone knows about Craigslist, eBay and Amazon, and these are great options, but here are a couple of other apps that are great for listing your products to your local community. Check ‘em out!

Wallapop – Buy & Sell pretty much anything in your home. Wallapop connects your with local buyers and sellers. You can list just about anything in your home, clothes, video games, furniture. Buy these items at a great price, save money and make money!Wallapop Spring Cleaning Apps

Varage Sale – This app creates more of a secure community. You need to be approved to enter the Varage Sale community, which provides you with a bit more security and eliminates the potential “threatening environment” some feel with Craigslist. You are able to set meetings and times right thru the app. In addition to all of this, the listings are shared with your local groups and everything is available, you can find some great deals here, and get money for what you consider “junk.”VarageSale Spring Cleaning Apps

OfferUp – I think OfferUp provides you with the fastest way to list items. This is another community based sales site which lets you communicate directly with other member to sell or buy items.  Again, this is another great way to make some spare money by doing that spring cleaning.OfferUp Spring Cleaning Apps

Decluttr – with a name that is straight to the point, Decluttr does exactly what it’s name is. I am sure you, like me, have a box of CDs, DVDs or old video games under your bed, in the closet or somewhere just taking up space. Decluttr lets you scan the barcode of your old music or games and gives you a price right at that moment. You can make a couple of bucks on items you haven’t used in YEARS! The best thing about Decluttr is that you box it up, and they pay for and provide you with the shipping. After you mail it out, you get a check from them a couple days after delivery is confirmed. Not an immediate payment, but this is a great way to get rid of items in bulk, clear space and make some money.Decluttr Spring Cleaning Apps

All of these apps are great ways to incentivize you to do some cleaning, in addition to that, most of these sites also give you a chance to find some really cool things to buy, so keep your goal of cleaning in mind and don’t buy too much from other sellers!

My basement and closets are terrifying. I definitely need to clear some stuff out before summer. Would be great to make a buck or two while I’m at it. I’ve only used Craigslist, so this is definitely a great list for a newbie like me to look into! :)

I have been dreading the cleaning up part, because we have so much to get rid of, and yard sales now days seem like a waste of time. These apps look very promising especially the wallapop app!

Thanks for introducing me to these sites. I never want to go through the hassle of Craig’s List or EBay. Also, way to much work to drag everything out and back in for a garage sale.

Completely agree. I have found local yard sale groups on Facebook very useful. I sell items and don’t have to worry about shipping anything.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
