Miracle-Gro Gro-Ables Review & Prize Pack Giveaway

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

This post is sponsored by The Scotts Company. Compensation and products provided. The honest opinions are my own.

I’ve written before about how much we like to garden. There are parts of it I love, seeing bulbs turn into flowers and blossom, picking fresh veggies and fruits off the vines, and being able to walk out the back door and snip a couple of herbs to add to our dinner. While I’m more inspired by the end result, Dave enjoys planting, weeding, and tending to the plants on a daily basis or as needed. Kora & Logan love to help out when they can as well and are happy to dig holes, plant seeds, pull weeds, and pick the veggies. They are always amazed at how big their little sunflowers can get and check their height and number of flowers daily.

GardenWe have a nice garden that runs along our driveway. It’s actually up against our neighbor’s brick house, which we’ve discovered over the years acts as an amazing greenhouse. When we first moved in we couldn’t believe that our roses were still blooming in February, or that our tomato plants would grow so high, or that our zucchini plants would take over the entire garden and eventually the driveway itself. We finally realized how warm the bricks get on our neighbor’s house. They retain heat from the sun as well which helps the garden grow.

GardenWe’ve had a rough winter here. It’s been bitterly cold and has carried on for far too long. We were considering starting some seeds in the house this year and that’s why I was excited to be given the opportunity to work with Miracle-Gro on this sponsored post to review some of their Gro-Ables Seed Pods and offer the giveaway below.

Groables ReviewGro-Ables are seed pods that provide an ideal growing environment for your seed. Each ready to plant seed pod contains growing materials, plant food, and a seed. There are 17 varities of Gro-ables and I selected:

  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Globe Tomatoes
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Smooth Leaf Spinach
  • Zucchini Squash
  • Straight Cucumber
  • Basil
  • Cilantro
  • Dill

GroablesI was excited to see how easy the Gro-Ables look like they are to use. Simply pull back the top label to read the directions, plant, add water, and watch it grow.

Groables Instructions

Groables Seed PodI’m anticipating a lot of tomatoes again this year. In the past I’ve gone out to our garden and just from a couple of plants brought in bowl after bowl overflowing with tomatoes.

TomatosI love that the label even says,”Guaranteed To Grow.”

Groable For GardeningThe Gro-Ables seed pod varieties will inspire me to make a number of different recipes including some of my summer favorites.

Easy Garden Tomato Salsa

Fresh Tomato Salsa RecipeCombine 3 cups of chopped tomatoes, 1/4 cup of fresh chopped cilantro, 1/2 teaspoon of lime juice, and mix all ingredients. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!

Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Spaghetti SauceAdd as much sliced garlic as you like to 2 tbsp of olive oil in a saucepan, saute until you smell the garlic. Toss in a bunch of chopped tomatoes. Add salt & pepper and let it all cook together for 5-10 minutes. Toss in cooked pasta, serve in bowls, and top with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

Simple Zucchini Bread

Easy Zucchini Bread RecipeWhile simple this is a lengthier recipe, you can find all the ingredients and steps here. You’ll also find a few pictures of the kids helping make this one when they were little. So cute!

I’m really happy with how easy  Miracle-Gro Gro-Ables seem like they will be to use and can’t wait to get them planted in our garden as soon as the last frost comes and goes. After looking at our 10 day forecast could be any day now. It will be fun to add these to our garden and I’m looking forward to seeing them grow and using them in our recipes this summer.

I’m also excited to offer the giveaway below.

WIN IT!

I know Miracle-Gro makes great products – but I hadn’t heard of or seen these yet. Sounds like a great products especially for hit-or-miss gardeners like me! My Honey/Hubby has already started growing (from seed) two kinds of tomatoes and two kinds of basil in his VERY VERY makeshift-poorman’s basement “greenhouse”… (his thumb seems to be greener than mine!)

But I like to grow a lot of fresh herbs (love to cook with them!) so I would definitely like to try the Cilantro, Dill (and Smooth-Leaf Spinach and Butterhead Lettuce – which I have never had any success with before.)

Thanks for the generous giveaway – and the intro too!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
