Save Money On Your Cable Bill

Do you have Internet at your home? Have you looked at your bill lately? Did you know that most Internet providers offer a modem and imply that you need their modem for the service.

At this point, most customers-to-be simply say “OK” and all of a sudden you are looking at renting a modem for $10/month.

Now $10/month doesn’t seem too bad, but when you add it up, that gets to $120/year. Now $120 most likely has your attention, so how can you save that money?

Instead of renting your modem thru your Internet provider, simply buy your own. The costs will pay for itself in a little over a year, and it will provide quality service for years down the road.

Some people are intimidated at the idea of buying their own modem. However, they are pretty easy to install and Internet providers want you as a customer, so they will quite often help with all the setup. All you have to do is plug it in.

What Should I Buy?

That’s why I’m excited about the Motorola – the MG7550 AC1900 Router, and it is a ton faster than your standard provided modem/router combo.mg7550-front

For example, our provider is Xfinity and from a performance standpoint, this Motorola MG7550 blows the provided modem/router out of the water.

This Motorola modem/router will take care of everything your provider needs if you have Internet and TV thru Comcast, Time Warner or a number of other providers.

When I set mine up, it took a couple of minutes to plug it in and power it up, then I simply called up Xfinity and they walked me thru the setup. They actually were able to do everything on their end to get it up and running.mg7550-back-diagram_web

Now, when you decide you want to save $120/year by going this route, you will love it. The provided modem/router by Xfinity is a basic piece of equipment. Once you think about everything you connect to your home Wi-Fi, you realize you need a better modem/router that can handle all the connections.

The Motorola MG7550 is a AC1900 Wi-Fi Router, which means it is FAST, the dual band helps to provide high speed & extra range. What really stands out with the MG7550 is the Wireless Power Boost and the AnyBeam beamforming which focuses the signal on active devices to enhance performance.

The difference is noticeable on your devices as well as your monthly bill!

Save Money & Improve Your Gaming & Streaming

Also, this is great news if you are a gamer or stream shows, the AnyBeam is a tremendous blessing for you. Your connections are perfect and you will notice a huge difference.

There are many modems out there that can allow you to save $120/year. The Motorola MG7550 tests out great compared to its competition. In a test of other AC1900 units from the competition, the MG7550 came out ahead in performance and was also the best bargain price-wise.

So . . . what are you waiting for, check your Internet bill and if you are renting your current modem/router STOP and buy your own. You will get better performance and save money.MG7550 box 032316

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
