With a 7- and 8-year old and a very large puppy who just turned a year old, our poor carpets have seen better days. We have carpet in our living and rec room and on our stairs. The kids and the dog run through the house and I’ll find muddy tracks in various places.
YoshiThat’s why I was excited to be given the chance to review the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner. I was very interested in the Rug Doctor because often my entire carpet doesn’t need to be cleaned, but there are times when spots will pop up and spills will spread, and I need an easy way to get rid of them.

I was interested to learn that the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner has two times the suction and a powerful handheld oscillating motorized brush. These features make it easy to tackle those spots, spills, and paw prints.

Rug DoctorIt’s powerful suction does a great job removing stains. Here are a couple of stains from Yoshi dog’s muddy feet that have been driving me crazy.
Stain

StainsI put the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner to the test on them and took a video so you could see the results.

I was thrilled to see that the stains are now gone!

Clean Carpet

Clean Carpet 2Don’t the carpets look so much better?

I was amazed at how simple the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner is to use. Simply pull the clean water tank out. I was happy to see it slips out as easily as the instruction booklet says it does. Fill it with hot water to the water line, add the soap to the soap line. Place it back in the Rug Doctor. Plug it in and turn on the power. Then turn on the motorized brush and hold the handle over the stain.

Rug Doctor Motorized BrushPush the soap button to spray the soap and then scrub the spot with the brush. The motorized motion of the bristles will really get a deep down clean.

Rug Doctor BrushStop holding in the soap button when you are finished adding soap and just run the brush over the damp area to soak up the water. When you are done, empty the dirty water tank. Clean out both tanks and let them dry.

That’s it. In just a few steps I was able to tackle stains that have been driving me crazy for months.

You can see it from unboxing to how to use in this video from the Rug Doctor website:

One of my other favorite features of the Rug Doctor is its small footprints allows it to sit on the stairs comfortably. This makes cleaning the stairs painless.

Rug Doctor StairsI was also very impressed with the carpet friendly wheels and retractable handle as well. These allow you to maneuver it from one place to another with ease.

Rug Doctor Handle & Wheels

Rug Doctor WheelsI’ve been very pleased with the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner and recommend it to anyone looking to clean up spills, stains, and paw prints. It’s simple to use, portable, and has many features that make cleaning easier. We no longer have to look at stains on our living room carpet and that makes me very happy.

We just had our carpet cleaned a couple weeks ago. Having a spot cleaner like this would be perfect for me to tackle the spills when they happen.

Dogs are messy by nature! That does not explain how hubby can make a big mess too!

I could really use this machine. I have four dogs and they leave stains that I have trouble getting out.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog originally got its name because my husband, Dave, and I had two kids born a year apart. Back then, we always joked that “the kids were too wired and we were too tired.”

Fast forward to today—those two kids are navigating college life (how did that happen so fast?!), and our house is a little quieter. But the story didn't stop there. Now that I'm a 50+ mom and an empty nester-in-training, the definition of 2 Wired 2 Tired has evolved.

Today I'm wired for new adventures, Disney magic, smart technology, and unforgettable travel experiences and I’m completely tired of bad gadgets, boring trips!

Whether you're a midlife mom looking for the ultimate 50+ Disney World guide, planning a relaxing Michigan Lake Life getaway, organizing a college dorm packing list, or just looking for a killer recipe to enjoy with a great book, you're in the right place.

The chaotic toddler years might be behind us, but the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here. Let's tackle this next exciting chapter together!
