Battling Dog Hair With The New Black & Decker Lithium Charged Handheld Vacuum

Can you believe Yoshi is a year old? We got her when she was 8 weeks old and the shelter estimated her birthday around July 28th. Here’s what she looked like when we brought her home:

Black & Decker Handheld Flex Vacuum received.

Here’s a photo I took recently:

YoshiCan you believe how much she’s changed and how different she looks? Amazing! She just keeps growing! We didn’t know how big she was going to be and honestly never thought she would be as big as she has already grown. Thankfully she should be slowing down a bit now that she’s a year old and she’s pretty close to as big as she’s going to get. She’s a wonderful dog though. Very well tempered and a great family dog. We couldn’t be happier that she is part of the family and has brought us lots of smiles, laughs, and joy.

One problem we do have with her is how much she sheds. Honestly, when she was just a tiny puppy we thought we had hit the jackpot. She didn’t appear to shed at all. I never noticed any dog hair on our carpets or on our clothes. Flash forward to nearly a year later and that has changed completely. Now she sheds like crazy and I’m constantly battling dog hair everywhere. That’s why I was excited about the Black & Decker Lithium Charged Handheld 20V Flex Vacuum.

Black & Decker Lithium Battery Handheld VacuumI have to be honest and confess that we let Yoshi up on our couch and in our recliner. She has a nice dog bed, but sometimes it’s just to have her hanging out with us on the couch. The bad part is our couch gets covered in her hair. I was wearing a pair of black yoga pants the other day and Kora pointed out to me how much Yoshi hair was stuck to them. I was quite disgusted. I consider myself a bit of a clean freak so having all this dog hair around has been frustrating.

Once the new Black & Decker Lithium Charged Handheld Vacuum 20V Flex arrived, I quickly unpacked it, excited to use it. Set up was pretty simple. All I had to do was snap on the attachment accessory holder pieces to the base, plug it in, and then set the vacuum on the base.

Black & Decker Lithium Battery Handheld Vacuum ChargingI waited four hours for it to complete it’s initial charge and once it was ready I couldn’t wait to start tackling the dog hair.

I was impressed by how many accessories there are.

There’s a stick vacuum attachment with floor head.

And crevice tool.

Black & Decker Flex Crevice

Black & Decker Lithium Flex

Black & Decker Flex Crevice ToolsI was also happy to see how lightweight it is. It’s a breeze to lift up and carry around. It’s so light that Kora & Logan will have no problem using it which will be a big help around the house and will be perfect for cleaning the car.

I love that it is battery charged, not having to deal with a power cord makes it’s very convenient and easy to use and I like how easy it is to empty and clean the filter.

Black & Decker Flex FilterIt’s a very powerful vacuum as well. I used the pet hair tool to clean our couch and couldn’t believe the difference it made. It is now Yoshi hair free!

Here’s a video I made so you can see how it works, how simple & powerful it is, and how lightweight it is.

I’ve been incredibly impressed with the new Black & Decker Lithium Charged Handheld 20V Flex Vacuum. It’s a portable and convenient way to tackle pet hair and I recommend it to anyone looking for an easier way to keep their house clean.

Wow—I need this. Besides our two cats who shed a lot, my Hubz is an engineer in a woodworking shop. Even though he works in the office, he spends enough time in the shop to bring home sawdust.

I need something like this to combat the fur from my long haired cat. Sometimes the carpet looks like it has snowed inside.

We adopted in May, she is a jack russel/rat terrier mix… she has next to no fur, her belly and chest are pretty much bald and the rest of her has a really thin coat, but she sheds like CRAZY!! It is crazy how much she sheds for how little fur she has. I need to check out this vacuum.

How much does Yoshi (she is adorable!!) weigh now? We also foster for a local rescue, our pup fell in love with our last foster (she pouted the whole day the foster was at the vet to have her spay surgery – wouldn’t eat, wouldn’t play, acted mad at us lol) so we ended up adopting her too. She’s some sort of beagle or hound mix for sure, but not sure what she’s mixed with. Our vet guessed she’d be 35-40lbs, but I am thinking she’ll be a lot bigger lol. Last week when we had her to the vet for some health issues she’s having she was 20lbs at 15 weeks.

I really need something like this to help with pet hair. I don’t know how we ended up with three pets, but the hair is killing me. :)

This vacuum looks amazing and light weight. I have birds that drop a lot of seed and feathers all over the floor and this would be perfect for them. This would be great for around my computer desk too.

Do I know about shedding! My dog is a shedder. He is a bassett hound and you would think he would not shed, but he does. I like the Black and Decker model shown here. It would be a great vacuum for me to get up all the dog hair.
