Tech Video Games

Nintendo Games Gift Guide

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

I have fond memories of my sister and I playing Nintendo for ages when we were in middle school. We lived in a small town and during the week we could call up our local movie and video game rental store and reserve the newest Nintendo game that just came out for the weekend. On Fridays, we’d excitedly bike over to the store and pick up the game and then quickly bike back home. We’d play all weekend and have so much fun together.

Nintendo Games Gift Guide

Thank you to Nintendo for sending some of the games below.

That’s why we’ve had a Nintendo Wii and a Wii U since the kids were young. I remember the joy of playing the games with my sister and Dave has always enjoyed video games too. As a family our favorite games are anything that has to do with Mario or Luigi. They are just so fun and we love that they are usually multiplayer and we can play together.

There are a number of great Nintendo games out there and I thought it’s the perfect time of year to share this list to help you find the best games for the Nintendo fans in your life:

Paper Mario Color Splash

Paper Mario Color SplashIn Paper Mario Color Splash someone has been draining the color from Prism Island and you need to help Paper Mario figure out who it is and use the power of paint to restore the island. There are mini paint stars that open up new stages and big paint stars that open up whole new areas so there is always more to play.

Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits & Fleshy Souls

Yo-Kai Watch 2 Bony Spirits

Yo-Kai Watch 2 Fleshy SoulsIn Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits & Fleshy Souls you find, make friends with, and battle more than 350 new and returning Yo-Kai. You can team up with the heroic cat, Hovernyan, travel back in time to save Springdale, and witness the origin of the Yo-Kai Watch. It offers a 4-player co-op action mode so everyone can play and have fun together.

Just Dance 2017

Just Dance 2017

This is a great video game that will get kids up and off the couch. Just Dance 2017 is more fun and easier to play then ever. If you don’t have enough Wii remotes you can use your smartphone, pull up the app, and everyone can dance along! Some of the tracks include: Cake By The Ocean by DNCE, Worth It by 5th Harmony, Sorry By Justin Bieber, and much more.

Skylanders Imaginators

Skylanders Imaginators If you have a Skylanders fan in your life I’m guessing Skylanders Imaginators is at the top of their list. In this game you embark on a new adventure and use the Imaginite Creation Crystals to create your own characters. Use 10 different different battle class types to defeat Chaos and his minions. You can play with friends in COOP and head to head racing.

Super Mario Maker

Super Mario MakerLooking for a video game that will get kids thinking creatively and using their imaginations? Super Mario Maker fits the bill. You can create your own Super Mario Bros. levels and play a near-limitless number of levels created from others around the world. This game encourages you to let your imagination run wild and create and then play the Super Mario levels of your dreams

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Lego Star Wars: The Force AwakensIf your kids have played previous Lego video game titles, they will love Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Players relive the action of the blockbuster movie featuring the film storyline retold from the Lego point of view. You can play as many of the main characters while exploring iconic Star Wars locales, and using a variety of vehicles along the way. Players can also choose from multiple building options to puzzle solve or just for fun, all which advance the game in various ways.

Mario Kart 8

MarioKart 8The Mario Kart games just keep getting better and Mario Kart 8 is the most action packed version yet. You can race upside down and along walls on anti-gravity tracks and take on racers at home or around the globe.

These games are all great for anyone who loves Nintendo and would make memorable gifts this holiday season. Plus don’t forget that the app Super Mario Run is coming to iOS on December 15th – it will be fun for Mario fans everywhere!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
