Mazda Mazda5 Grand Touring Minivan Review

When we go on vacation we are always looking for a vehicle that will hold the whole family and our luggage comfortably. That’s why I was excited for the chance to test drive for a week, the Mazda5 Grand Touring Minivan on our recent Orlando trip.

Mazda5 Reviews

Mazda5 Minivan

Mazda5 Minivan TrunkThe Mazda5 is a sporty minivan that has treated us well on this trip. It has 3 rows which made it easy to get around with both our family and relatives.

Mazda5 InteriorKora & Logan enjoyed sitting in the 3rd row and I was glad to see there was a bit of room for their feet. The seat wasn’t flat to the floor like in some vehicles we’ve driven.

Mazda5 2nd & 3rd Row

Mazda5 3rd RowWe also made use of both sliding doors. It made navigating crowded parking lots easier when the kids could hop out on one side or the other.

Mazda5 Sliding Rear DoorsWe were very grateful for the rear climate controls which helped cool off the passengers in the back. The hot Orlando sun was shining brightly on this trip and having that extra boost of air conditioning pumped to the 2nd & 3rd rows made traveling much easier.

Mazda5 Rear Climate ControlKora & Logan loved the 3rd row, sliding doors, and rear climate control. Here’s a quick video they made explaining why they’ve enjoyed the Mazda5 so much.

When the 3rd row is up trunk space is a bit limited but manageable.

Mazda5 TrunkThat’s why we were glad to discover that it’s easy to lay the 3rd row flat to increase the amount of space for our luggage.

Mazda5 3rd Row FlatIt was also nice to see that you can split the 3rd row and have one seat up and one seat flat.

Mazda5 Split 3rd RowWe felt the interior was spacious and perfect for 6 passengers. We never felt on top of one another. The front row and second rows seats were adjustable and could slide forward and back giving more room to those who need it.

In the front of the vehicle, the navigational controls on the steering wheel made us feel safer while driving. Being able to tune the radio, adjust the air conditioning, set cruise control and more without taking our hands off the wheel was a fantastic feature that we enjoyed and used often.

Mazda5 Steering WheelWe also liked how it handled. It’s a sporty minivan that is easy to maneuver in and out of traffic and made driving in unfamiliar traffic all the easier.

We’ve been pleased with the Mazda5 Minivan and it’s been a wonderful vacation vehicle. It’s gotten us where we want to go in comfort and style with many features, like the folding 3rd row and dual sliding rear doors, that has made managing the trip even easier. We recommend it to those making the switch to a minivan and to those looking for a versatile 4-6 passenger vehicle.

I love how the back row comes down for extra space. Glad to see it has climate control in the back and is roomy for 6.

Especially in Southern states, those rear climate controls are a fabulous feature!

No kidding, but the all of the accessories that you mentioned are the ones I want. And I love the color of the Mazda you got to drive. Your kids have grown so much and are even cuter than when I met them!

I like the looks of this car. It is hard to believe it is a mini van. This doesn’t look like the typical mini van. This is such a sporty looking car and has a lot of great options. This is totally a mini van I could drive.

I have a Mazda CX-7 and like it! This looks like a nice vehicle though, maybe in the future! :)
