How To Free Yourself From Living In Black & White Printable World

I’m always looking for fun and creative ways to keep Kora & Logan busy. That’s why I love printables. You can print out things they are interested in and if their interests change, it’s no problem to find something else. However I have to admit, I very rarely printed them anything in color over the years years.

HP Instant Ink Summer Printable

HP Printer, gift card, and HP Instant Ink trial received.

We often have a lot of blog business documents to print and we never wanted to run out of ink when we were trying to print an important contract. So for years I didn’t print any colorful printables. Each time I would switch the settings to black & white or greyscale, a little part of me really wished I could print in color to my heart’s content.  Thankfully times have changed and I’m excited about HP Instant Ink, how to find printables, how to print them in color, and how to never run out of ink.

Recently we received an HP Printer and gift card to try the HP Instant Ink program. Once the printer was set up, I signed up for the HP Instant Ink program. Signing up was easy and within a few days our new ink arrived. Since we now had the extra ink on hand and I was tired of living in a black & white printable world, I couldn’t wait to start printing.

The first thing I printed was this fun summer printable I made.

Next I went in search of other printables. Searching for them online can be overwhelming because there are so many. Then I decided to try HP Printables. There is a button right on our printer that allows us to scan through the printables and we can select what we want to print, or set them up to print daily, weekly, etc. There are a wide variety of topics including: news, recipes, kids activities, and more.

HP Instant Ink Printables For KidsI was also excited to see that there is an HP Printables app. While I like being able to print from the printer, with the app you can easily see which printables are available and then print them or schedule them.

HP Instant Ink Printables App

With my HP Instant Ink on hand and confidence that now that I’ve signed up for the program I will never run out of ink, I went a little printable crazy!

HP Instant Ink Colorful Printables For KidsI printed out a number of printables for the kids. There are activity sheets, paper airplanes, and more.

Kora & Logan were thrilled!

HP Instant Ink Printables

I was interested to learn that with HP Instant Ink you can:

  • Get up to 50% savings on ink
  • Select from a variety of plans
  • Have the ink delivered right to your door

How does it work?

  • Check out the HP Instant Ink site to see if your printer is eligible – if not, purchase an eligible HP Instant Ink printer
  • Select your plan and enroll
  • HP will mail you HP Instant Ink cartridges in a Welcome Kit – these cartridges have more ink than XL cartridges so you’ll change them less often
  • Install the HP Instant Ink cartridges after your ink runs out
  • Service begins after the cartridge from the Welcome Kit are installed
  • The printer will let HP know when you are low and HP will send new ink to your door before you run out

Cool. Ink is just too darn expensive. I usually just go without printing.

I also print only in black and white on my HP printer. I seldom need colors so they would dry up but is my printing needs change this would be a cool app to have.

I am an ink miser. I had a printer and only printed in black and white…. heck thee other colors dried up! I like the HP program, and for someone who prints a whole lot this would be a deal they would find useful.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
