Back To School Safety With AT&T Smart Limits

Our kids are heading back to school next week and I know many children out there have already started. It’s been a fun summer full of long, hot days and lots of fun. We spent some of the time relaxing but we were on the go a lot too. Things aren’t going to change much once school starts. Between classes, after school sports and activities, weekends filled with soccer and flag football games, and sleepovers with friends, Kora & Logan will have us running from one end of town to the other but we enjoy it. It’s fun to see them enjoy themselves while they play sports and hang out with their friends.

AT&T SmartLimits

This post is sponsored by AT&T.

As the kids get older it’s nice to be able to keep in touch with them while they are out and about and for them to have a way to reach us whenever they need to. Now that they are old enough to have smartphones of their own we have been researching ways to keep their phone usage in check, to teach them responsibility, and, as parents, be smart about their mobile safety.

That’s why I’m excited about AT&T Smart Limits. It’s a family smartphone manager and more.

AT&T Smart Limits has a number of fantastic features including:

  • Being able to disable cellular data, texting, and outbound calls during specific times during the day or at night
  • The ability to monitor who your kids are communicating with and when with daily activity reports and weekly emails
  • Set limits on the number of texts your kids can send and receive
  • Set purchase limits so there are no surprises when you receive your next bill
  • Easily block calls and texts from up to 30 numbers
  • Block cellular data use when your child is using up too much data for the month

AT&T Smart Limits Call & Text ActivityJust a note: while this screenshot says “at school,” as mentioned above, our kids haven’t started school yet.

You can set up an AT&T Smart Limits account to use on your computer and you can also download the app and login to your account to view activity and manage settings from your own smartphone.

I’m very impressed with how easy it is to use AT&T Smart Limits. They did a wonderful job making the dashboard easy to read and the settings very user friendly.

AT&T Smart Limits ControlsI like that in both the Limits screen and the Restrictions screen you can simply tap your finger on slider bars on and off for purchase and text limits as well as school restrictions, night restrictions, and all hours restrictions. Setting specifics for both the limits and restricts is easy too. Just type in how many texts you want your child to be able to send and receive and what their purchase limit is and you are done. In restrictions you can set the hours you want features to be inaccessible during school time and at night.

AT&T Smart Limits Time Restrictions

AT&T Smart Limits costs $4.99 per month for one line or $9.99 per month for up to ten lines when purchased through AT&T. The first 30 days are free for new Smart Limits subscribers. Once you’ve purchased Smart Limits through AT&T, download the app from Google Play or the App Store to start managing your family’s phone use from your mobile phone, or you can also manage Smart Limits from your computer.

I recommend AT&T Smart Limits to any parents looking for a simple to use family smartphone manager. Not only will it help teach kids responsibility but it will give parents peace of mind as well.

    Lots of great features.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
