How To Enjoy The Outdoors When Your Allergies Are Trying To Take Over

I’m sharing this post as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars. The honest opinions are my own.

We are a family who loves to be outdoors. If the weather was perfect we would love to be outside all day, every day.

Spring Fun

Summer Family FunWe are also a family dealing with allergies. Dave and Logan both are affected by pollen, grass, and hayfever type allergies. I haven’t figured my allergies out yet, every time I think I have it narrowed down something else pops up. While Kora doesn’t seem to have any allergies, she does get a number of colds which I’m still trying to determine whether they are actually allergies or not.

While we love being outside, unfortunately all of the things that make the outdoors so lovely, are many of the same things that cause people with allergies to suffer.

No matter what allergies we are dealing with, we still find that maximizing our time outside makes us feel better. I know that fresh air and sunshine always does me good, so I every day I try to schedule as much outdoors time as I can.

It can be tough though to fully enjoy the outdoors when your allergies are trying to take over. Did you know that over 50% of people with seasonal allergies suffer coughs and itchy throats too? That’s us. One of my most common allergies complaints is a sore throat and Dave’s is a cough.

How do we deal with it and still enjoy the outdoors? I’ve found there’s an easy way to get an extra drop of soothing relief. I just pop a Ricola herb drop and drop that sore throat and cough and I’m able to fully enjoy the outdoors.

RicolaI like to keep a bag of Ricola in my tote that I take everywhere so anytime allergies that cause a sore throat or cough pop up, I’m ready.

Ricola On The GoI was interested to learn that every Ricola drop has their Swiss herb blend that goes to work quickly and naturally to relieve an itchy throat and cough caused by allergies.

The kids haven’t suffered too much from allergies yet this year so far. I have never tried Ricola the next time I have a sore throat and cough.

My 6 year old went to the doctor and we were told her problems were from allergies. I didn’t even think about it since nobody else in the family has problems with it. She’s not on a pill a day to help but hopefully it starts working soon so we all can enjoy the outdoors again.
