There’s nothing like grilled cheese as a comfort food. While bread and cheese have always been paired over the centuries, it’s believed that the grilled cheese sandwich came to be in the 1920’s, and became a mainstay during the Depression. Nowadays, grilled cheese sandwiches have become a foodie favorite with a wide variety of cheeses, and even meats, vegetables and an assortment of toppings.
We love grilled cheese sandwiches here in our house whether they are the simple traditional variety or a gourmet masterpiece. Recently Dave made a delicious grilled cheese sandwich using tomatoes and basil from our garden. It was fantastic and has encouraged us to get even more adventures with our sandwiches. That’s why I’m excited about this collection. There is a wonderful variety and something for everyone. The recipes come from some of my favorite bloggers and I’m excited to share them with you.
