We Love The New Way To Roll

We just had an opportunity to test drive for a week, the new 2016 Kia Soul and it is a head turner – I think in a good way, but either way, it gets reactions!2016 Kia Soul!

First, let me say that my in-laws saw it first and kinda chuckled, then my mom saw it and compared it to a “pea soup colored toaster.” I think it’s cool, I continue to think of the Kia hamsters bouncing around as I drive it. The Kia Soul is fun to drive, and more people need to learn about it!

Now, let’s take a leap and assume that my in-laws and mother don’t really fit the target demographic b/c they are a bit “mature” for Kia’s range. That is ok, the Kia Soul is hip, cool and fun, much bigger than it appears and growing in popularity – quite rapidly . . . even with it’s big bug eyed headlights and funky taillights!2016 Kia Soul!2016 Kia Soul!

Kia makes a great car at a great price, when you are driving a Kia Soul, the one thing you instantly notice is how many of them are on the road, and there are a ton of these things driving the streets. Some in the bright and bold colors and others in more conservative colors. Since I saw so many of them, I started to have some fun and wave to every fellow Kia Soul driver, and noticed that there really is no demographic for a “standard buyer.” The buyer of the Kia Soul seems to be young, old, male, female and every racial demographic.

The different range of drivers was really incredible. If you are in the market for a value car which provides you a good bang for your buck, you have to test drive the Kia Soul. Here is a quick pros & cons to consider when looking at a Kia Soul as your next vehicle. We loved it, you can’t help but smile every time you get into the Kia Soul!

Pros

The Soul is MUCH bigger than you would think, plenty of room and it is comfy inside.

Great car for driving around the city – small parking radius.

Good mileage – not great for a smaller car, I experienced 25/31 mpg city/hwy.

Fun to drive.

Price – a great bargain.2016 Kia Soul!

Cons

Limited trunk space – although when the seats fold down there is a ton of room and height

Rear camera could use an upgrade in quality

This is a budget car, the engine is a bit loud and you can hear the car on the road.

  • Even with these couple of items which represent room for improvement, you have to know what you are getting into prior to driving a Kia Soul. This is a lot of car for the money, and not everything is going to be perfect, but it compares greatly to its competition.

Everyone seems to have an opinion of the Kia Soul! I believe Kia started making the Soul to target the younger generation, but what they ended up doing was making a fun car which fits the “young at heart” demographic as well!2016 Kia Soul!

I was this close to getting a Kia. I wanted black but the dealerships around me didn’t have it and I ended up getting a subaru I LOVE and am happy with.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
