5 Reasons Parents Need Xfinity xFi

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Comcast. Personal story and thoughts are my own.

As a tech blogger, I love how amazing the online world can be for families. It’s a great way to learn new things and a wonderful way to stay connected. However, I am also very aware of how diligent parents must be these days with the Internet. Everyone always wants to be connected at all times these days and it’s important for parents to properly manage their family’s online world.

Kora TypingWhether you are on the desktop, your teen is on his or her phone, and other family members are watching a movie on demand, you want to make sure your Wi-Fi is at its best. That’s why I’m excited about a new feature now available for Comcast Internet customers – xFi, where you can get the speeds, the control, and the coverage you need.

Xfinity xFi Family

xFi helps you enjoy the ultimate Wi-Fi experience when you rent an xFi Gateway. It has a number of great features and here are 5 reasons parents need xFi.

Parental Controls With Easy To Use Tools

Xfinity xFi Parental ControlsIt’s important to monitor what our children are seeing these days and xFi has simple and powerful Parental Controls that help parents protect kids from inappropriate content while using the home Wi-Fi. You get the ultimate control of your home Wi-Fi network with easy to use tools across your mobile device, laptop, and Xfinity X1. On top of that the Xfinity xFi Gateway is a modem and router all in one.

Safer, More Secure Browsing

If your kids are old enough to surf the web or have their own devices, you know how tricky it can be to manage what they are seeing as well as their screen time. With xFi you can set safe browsing modes for kid-appropriate content, you can also pause Wi-Fi access to your home Wi-Fi network, and you can set create time restrictions as well. This way you can have a true no phone zone at dinner and set wake and sleep hours so your kids aren’t on their devices all night.

Manage Your Home WiFi From Anywhere

Xfinity xFi Mobile AppWith xFi you can manage your home Wi-Fi from anywhere on any device, even from your TV with X1. You can see what devices are online, how long they’ve been on, and even pause Wi-Fi for devices on your network.

Personalize Your Home WiFi Network

You can create a Wi-Fi name and password that’s easy for you to remember, you can also see all the devices on your home network, assign devices to profiles for easy management, and get alerts if new devices connect to your network.

Simple & Easy To Get Online In Minutes

To get set up it’s easy to start: first you download the xFi app, then snap a picture of the QR Code on the bottom of your Gateway, and then personalize your Wi-Fi name and password. That’s it, you are all set up, and are online in minutes.

Families these days are always connected and that’s why I’m excited about xFi. It’s a great way to help keep your kids safe online and to manage your family’s screen time as well as to manage your home Wi-Fi from anywhere with easy to use tools. The Internet offers a great big world out there and Xfinity xFi gives parents peace of mind while allowing them to stay connected with their kids.

Oh that looks like it would be awesome. I think I could get a lot done around the house If I was able to pause the wifi from both hubs and kiddo.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
