TheraPearl Flexible Hot & Cold Packs Review

As a family we are pretty active. We are all always running around outside doing one sport or another and in fact we have a family mud run coming up soon. All this activity is fun but on occasion it can lead to aches, pains, bumps, and bruises. We’ve always found ice packs and heat packs help whenever we need them and to be honest Dave’s version of a good ice pack was a bag of peas.

TheraPearl

TheraPearl Packs received.

Over the years I tried various ice packs but never liked how solid and hard they would become. I liked Dave’s ideas of the peas because they could mold to wherever you needed them, but they tend to drip and when you keep taking them out of the fridge and putting them back in, eventually the peas get frostbitten and are no good as food or ice packs

As Kora & Logan have gotten older our ice packs were hard like rocks or the bags of peas were giant on them and leaky, I started searching for a better ice pack. That’s why I was excited about the TheraPearl flexible cold & hot packs. I couldn’t wait to try them.

We were sent the TheraPearl:

  • Sports Pack
  • Ankle & Wrist Wrap
  • Oval Pack
  • Frog Children’s Pal

Once the products arrived I was immediately impressed with how flexible they were. Whether heated up or put in the freezer, they conveniently mold to whichever area of your body needs soothing. I also was pleased to find the outer material was fairly soft.

I was interested to read that TheraPearl was invented by Dr. Carol Baltazar who wanted a better solution for her patients. The Pearls are made of a proprietary super absorbent polymer. Her goal was to make a cold pack that resembled a bag of peas but was reusable and could be heated in the microwave.

I was also impressed to learn that the Pearls maintain their hot or cold temperature for 20 minutes which is the doctor recommended time for effective hot or cold application.

On top of that it makes me very happy that you can take the packs right from the freezer and heat them in the microwave. Since it’s recommended to use cold on an injury first to reduce bruising and swelling and heat later, it’s good to know that we can store them in the freezer and put them in the microwave to heat when needed. You can also store the packs in the fridge in case you prefer them to be cool.

Kora & Logan love riding their bikes and from time to time they will have a major spill which will require an ice pack. Whenever the fall can cause tears to come to their eyes, the TheraPearl Children’s Pal Frog always gets them to smile.

TheraPearl Frog

TheraPearl FeaturedWhile our kids are old enough to understand that an ice pack can help a bruise or bump, I remember the days of them being little and trying to get them to sit with an ice pack. It was struggle that generally ended up ineffective. However, if we had had the Children’s Pal then I could see them actually being excited to use the cute little frog.

The Sports Pack

TheraPearl Sports Pack

TheraPearl SportsThis is great for pre/post workout, sprains, swelling, sore muscles, and arthritis. This one is a good size and works well for Dave and I whenever we need it for any aches and pains.

The Ankle & Wrist Wrap

TheraPearl Ankle Wrist Wrap

TheraPearl Wrist & Ankle WrapPerfect for ankle sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, tendinitis, and other sprains and swelling. Sometimes Dave has issues with one of his ankles from an old sports injury and and this wrap fits well, is easy to use, and is comfortable.

The Oval Pack

TheraPearl Hot Cold PackThis pack is smaller than the sports pack and we like it for any smaller areas that need soothing. I’ve bumped my head in our attic far too many times and this is the perfect size to use to keep the swelling and bruising down. It would also be good for toothaches, after oral surgery, to help reduce fevers, and more.

I recommend TheraPearl Flexible Hot & Cold Packs, they are comfortable, convenient, reusable and soothing. They are worth their price because of their high quality and are perfect for those who are budget conscious.

These are so cool! I love that they can go from the freezer to the microwave and you don’t have to worry about them. I need to get the ankle one for my daughter. She does dance and there is times she needs to ice her ankles. Thanks!

I have tendinitis in my right wrist, so I would love to try these cold packs. The little mini pearls looks so soothing. I love the wrap around one.
