The Best Peach Crisp Recipe Ever

We had a couple of peaches that needed to be eaten within the next day or two, so last night I decided to make peach crisp.

Peach CripsI searched my favorite recipe sites and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. So I decided to combine a number of different recipes. This one turned out amazing and was by far the best peach crisp recipe I’ve ever made! Sugary, but not too sweet. Our only complaint was I didn’t make enough. We couldn’t stop eating it and it was gone in minutes. Enjoy!

Chop peaches, no need to remove peel.

Peaches Peach CrispIn a mixing bowl, combine first four ingredients.

Peach CrispStir melted butter into dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.  Press half into a greased an 8 X 8 square pan.

Peach Crisp RecipeCover with peaches.

Peach CrispIn a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, water and vanilla; cook and stir until thick and clear. Pour over peaches. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 350 for about 1 hour.

I made this recipe last night! BEST PEACH CRISP EVER! Seriously. I doubled the recipe – and I added an additional 4 Tblsp of melted butter (for a double batch – my batter was too dry). But otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. OMG. Best crust ever. Next time I make it, I’m going to try a couple of things: Cut back on the sugar, and add some lemon juice/zest to the peaches. Wish I had read the comments before i started. :) I love that this recipe uses the peach skins, saves time on preparation. Thank you for a fantastic recipe! :)

About how many servings does this make?

The peach crisp was delish. The only thing I did differently, was I added some fresh lemon zest to the peaches, and squeezed 1/2 a lemon into the peaches. I saw Pioneer Woman’s show where she made peach crisp and she did that. It added a tiny tang. But everyone loved your recipe. I would double the batch if you have a bigger crowd. But this made a nice amount.

Loved your peach crisp recipe. I modified it by adding some left over pears and strawberries to the peaches. Also trying to cut back on the sugar (weight watchers) so I substituted 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of of water for the 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup of water. I also used 1 tsp of Jamison Irish Whiskey to replace the vanilla. It came out great. Everyone loved it. A good way to use up fruit in the fridge so it doesn’t go bad.
    Thank you

I thought that two cups of sugar was way too much for the size of the dessert. I cut it in half and it was plenty sweet. I like the fact that you don’t peel the peaches— always looking to make things simpler.

Ah, peaches and desserts made with peaches.

I grew up in a farming community, (row crops & orchards) and learned to love everything made with Peaches

My mom used to go to a ‘community’ cannery can a winters supply of canned people.

Once a year, the Bannack Society holds the ‘Bannack Days” celebration the Banack ghost town/state park in Beaverhead County, (that makes sense doesn’t it? Everyear,) One of the attractions is baking peach cobbler in a dutch oven. It is very good..,
