Samsung Showcase Side By Side Refrigerator With Innovative Two Door System From Best Buy

I have always thought of refrigerators as the type of product you buy once every 10 – 15 years and you forget about it. It’s in your kitchen and used often, but it was never anything you put too much thought into, or really even looked at.

ur lack of thought about our refrigerator drastically changed when our new Samsung Showcase Side By Side Refrigerator from Best Buy was delivered. After spending a couple of minutes admiring it and checking it out, I will never consider a refrigerator as something you take for granted!

The first thing you notice is . . . wow, this unit looks really cool!

Inset Handle Design

The stainless steel really stands out (and we’ve been pleased it does not show fingerprints!) and the slick inset handle design is awesome because there are no large handles sticking out to get in the way. Then you look at the digital display with all sorts of options and the large ice and water dispenser and you realize this is truly much more than “just” a refrigerator.

Showcase Door

This might be my favorite feature. The refrigerator has an innovative two door system all on one handle.

If you pull the bottom of the handle, the Showcase comes open to reveal the inside of the door and gives you instant access to your favorite foods. We use this for beverages and all kids’ snacks – and we use the top shelf as a place for quick access to adult drinks which is great for get togethers. If you pull the InnerCase part of the handle it opens the entire refrigerator which is where you store larger items.

In the pictures and video, you’ll notice the Metal Cooling panel on the door. This is made of stainless steel and helps maintain a consistent temperature.

Thru-the-Door Ice and Water Dispenser

You can get filtered water right from the door dispenser, as well as ice cubes and crushed ice. I love this feature because the area is huge! You can easily fit water bottles and larger cups here. Also, the speed in which the water comes out is so much faster than our old fridge. This means less time waiting for your cup to fill up!

Organization

I feel like I can say every feature is my favorite with the Samsung Showcase. We went back and forth on whether we wanted the counter depth or the larger size. We agreed on the counter depth because our new Samsung Showcase will be between the cabinets in our kitchen when it is finished. We were slightly concerned about it being large enough for us, but after using it for a couple of weeks, we are very impressed with the setup.

We were happy to find there is more usable space in the Samsung Showcase than our old fridge which technically had more space.

I love how the shelves are arranged and how every square inch of this refrigerator is able to be used. One of the shelves is height adjustable and another folds in half so taller items can be placed below it – you can see how it works in the video above. I do wish there was the option to change the heights of all the shelves. Even with this, I am still very impressed with the ability to use the entire area and the overall usable area.

There are 3 bins inside, 2 that slide out and a 3^rd that opens from the top, which makes great use of the bottom of the unit. You are able to control the humidity in all 3 of these bins, and this gives you plenty of options for how to arrange your food storage.

There are 3 more bins on the doors which are accessible on both the inside and via the Showcase Door. We usually place fruits, snacks and drink boxes for the kids in these bins so they could be easily accessed by opening the Showcase door. It’s is nice for them to not have to open the entire refrigerator to get a snack.

Now onto the freezer.

Space

I cannot believe how much we are able to put into this freezer! Our old freezer was a clumsy mess of organization. Nothing seemed to fit right. Now with the Samsung Showcase, there is plenty of room in the freezer, the ice maker is on the door, so there is all sorts of space on the top area, and it is even with it being a side-by-side, it is wide enough to store a frozen pizza without it being all sideways and angled like our old fridge.

I love all the drawers, there’s one there on top and a couple on the bottom.

Lighting

When you open any of the doors, you instantly notice how bright the inside is. This is because of the high-efficiency LED lights. These LED lights conserve energy, emit minimal heat, and add to the space saving design.

Digital Display & Refrigerator Super Powers

The freezer door has a digital display where you can change the temperatures of both the freezer and refrigerator. This is a touch screen unit and you can also turn a light on by the water/ice dispenser, enter the unit into power saving mode, choose from crushed or cubed ice and, turn the door alarm on and off, see if the filter needs to be replaced and more.

The super power of the Samsung Showcase is the ability to use the Power Cool and Power Freeze options to quickly lower the temperature in either compartment in a matter of minutes. This is great to chill drinks and firm up ice cream.

All that is missing from the Samsung Showcase is a cape!
