After traversing the snowy mountain of the Virginias and spending a couple of days in the genteel south of Savannah, we finally crossed the border of the sunshine state known as Florida. As our car wheels rolled across the state line we noticed that the temperature was sitting at 68 degrees. We bet each other if it would reach 70 degrees before we reached Jacksonville. It did, for about two minutes! That was the last of the 70's we would see for the next few days. In fact one day ... continue reading...
Florida Road Trip: Stopping In Savannah Georgia
What do retired Michiganders do during the winter? Travel to Florida. Randy and I joined the throng this year for our first ever retirement trek. We decided we were going to be vagabonds with no true destination in mind or hotel reservation. This was really a change for me since I like to have plans. We did know we did not want to travel the I-75 route since we have made that trip too many times, with too many other vehicles on the road. We wanted this trip to be leisurely. We left ... continue reading...
St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake Collection
One of the best parts about having children is how excited they get for each holiday. No matter what holiday it is, once one passes they are focused on the next. It's a great lesson in learning to appreciate everything. Before having kids I probably wouldn't have done anything special for St. Patrick's Day but now that Kora & Logan are already counting down the days until it's here I'm inspired to make something fun and delicious! There are so many wonderful holiday recipes out there to ... continue reading...

Loose Tooth & Fever?
You may remember back around Christmas time, I wrote about Kora being really sick and then getting tonsillitis. At that time she had a loose tooth and it seemed like it may have been the culprit. Not long before she had lost a tooth and just before she ran a fever and got a bad head cold. What do you know, this past weekend she started running a fever again along with a stuffy nose, sneezing, and coughing. It went on a day or two and then I realized she has another tooth ready to fall ... continue reading...

Zebra Striped Hot Pink Cookies by DebbieSweets Cherry Chocolate Kiss by The Curvy Carrot Valentine's Spiral Cookies by Sprinkle Bakes Oreo Cakester Hearts by Bakerella Strawberry ... continue reading...
North American International Auto Show in Detroit Review
When you think of Detroit one of the first words that should come in mind is cars. We do love the automobile. It not only provides a livelihood for so many of us, but also entertainment. We Michiganians can spend hours just looking at cars. The North American International Auto Show is proof of our adoration. From the moment we walked into Cobo Hall the excitement was tangible. Cars, cars, everywhere and just as the title indicates not just the Big Three, but cars from all over the world. ... continue reading...
Ice Storm Pictures
After what's been an unusually warm winter, it seems a big storm is headed our way. I heard they are grounding planes in Chicago and Cleveland Hopkins has started cancelling flights as well. It's predicted to be a bit of a mess in the morning, but I sure hope it doesn't end up looking like the ice storm pictures below when we wake up tomorrow! These first few pictures were taken in Lake Geneva in Switzerland by Jean-Pierre Scherrer. Aren't they incredible?! I can't ... continue reading...
