Thank you to Vicks for sponsoring this post. The honest opinions are my own.
I remember way back when before I had kids how when I was sick I would take the day off of work, lay on the couch all day, and watch TV. I’d rest up for however long I needed to get well. I’d get lots of extra sleep, including multiple naps a day. As soon as I had kids, my life changed. And then we had two kids under the age of two and Dave was trying to start his own business so he was putting in long hours. I lived far away from my side of the family and we were on a tight budget so I couldn’t hire a babysitter.
I quickly learned that there are #NoSickDays for moms.
I muscled through and learned a lot about how it’s still possible to be a good parent even when you are sick. Now that the kids are older and are much more able to take care of themselves I could take naps when needed but now time has gone by and I’ve learned that I can parent, clean the house, make dinner, and run two businesses all while under the weather.
Thanks to Vicks DayQuil Severe & NyQuil Severe I just keep powering through and make it happen.
When things are really bad and one or both of the kids are sick too, I like to use the time to cuddle up on the couch with them and catch up on our favorite TV shows or movies. Just hanging out together seems to make us all feel better. Here’s a photo from a couple of years ago when the three of us weren’t feeling well.
We definitely weren’t looking our best then, but the winter hats and blanket sure made us all feel better!
At the end of a day like this, it’s important to get a lot of sleep so I try to get to bed as early as possible.
I know there are many other moms out there in the same situation, who face #NoSickDays and that’s why I was excited to learn the The Cubicle Chick will be taking over the new @NyQuilDayQuil Twitter Page on November 4th. She will be showing the behind the scenes day of a career woman and why she can’t take a sick day.
I am a fan of DayQuil Severe & NyQuil Severe because they relieves your worst cold & flu symptoms so you can and go back to doing the things you love and can’t miss so I’m looking forward to this Twitter takeover and encourage you to follow the new @NyQuilDayQuil Twitter Page.
As a mom, blogger, and business owner there are #NoSickDays for me and honestly I’m ok with it. Kora & Logan are growing up so fast, I don’t want to miss a day of their childhoods. And I’m so excited about the success of 2 Wired 2 Tired as well as our new business venture that I don’t want to take a day off. I just keep powering through.

Same goes for Dads.
I’ve got to work on getting to bed earlier!
Sick days with children are definitely not the same as before. So much harder!
