Little Giant Xtreme Ladder Review

The Little Engine Ladder That Could!  Sorry I guess we spend too much time with Logan talking about trains.  But to get back on track, The Little Giant Xtreme arrived last weekend!

After I opened it up, started figuring it out and playing with it, The Little Giant Xtreme did something I have never . . . ever seen before.

It made my father-in-law speechless.  A retired salesman with nothing to say, this thing was awe inspiring!

We immediately took it outside to do some work and test it out.

Little Giant XtremeIt was amazing how quickly the Little Giant Xtreme switched from position to position. First a basic step ladder, then a taller step ladder, then straightened all the out, and then on the steps.  It was awesome!

Little Giant ReviewsWe were amazed that the changing of positions was pretty simple, easy, fast and able to be executed by one person.  It was striking how solid and well built the ladder felt in every arrangement.

We tried out most of it’s 24 positions, and each time the common theme was how sturdy and safe this ladder felt (even on the steps, with the legs at different heights).

We thougth it may have been magic, but then decided it was in large part due to the wide base which is different than your conventional ladder.

Little Giant ReviewOther than how sturdy and safe it felt, my favorite feature is the ability to change to fit whatever job you need (and quickly), my father-in-law’s favorite feature also how sturdy it was, because it meant he didn’t have to hold the ladder as I was going onto the roof, and he was free to do what he does best (not take a nap) take some pictures.

AirplaneIn addition to these stated features, the Little Giant Xtreme can be used as a workbench, and it has a paint tray, a working tray, as well a lifetime warranty.

I remember seeing the late night commercials and the longer infomercials for the Little Giant Xtreme and remember chuckling at the voice and the video. The commercial has a great monster truck show feel with the loud voice and some spots with flames going across the screen, which you can see here:

It’s an enticing commercial that shows off all of the ladder’s features in an “Xtreme” way, and I was happy to find that this ladder lives up to the hype.

If you own a house, you will need a ladder, and this is THE ladder, so you might as well get one ladder that can take care of any and all acts you would need a ladder for.  This is perfect for cleaning gutters, replacing outdoor lights, climbing onto the roof to hide from your wife and kids, hanging pictures on the stairway in that hard to reach spot, painting, or even setting up the Christmas tree.

There are lots of items that are good, but there are few that are able to live up to and exceed the hype that goes with a late night infomercial like the The Little Giant Xtreme does.  The Little Giant Xtreme is tremendous and will be appreciated by anyone who gives it a chance.

  19. We have tall ceilings so changing light bulbs, batteries for smoke detectors and cleaning ceiling fans is always a major hassle. Household step ladders are too short so we have to drag in huge and enormously heavy outdoor ladders to do the simplest of tasks – a real headashe. I would love to win this for our whole family’s sake! Thanks!

  189. I live in a multilevel house with cathedral cealings. Reaching windows for cleaning, painting, dusting, hanging pictures, etc are just a start on uses for the Little Giant extreme indoors. Outdoors, hanging of Christmas decorations, painting, cleaning of gutters, reaching over shrubs to get to the wall, etc. I could go on and on….Given the chance I would put the Little Giant through its paces. I like all the features, but the work plank is probably the most versatile in my eyes.
