IZON View Wi-Fi Video Monitor With Night Vision Review

When Kora & Logan were babies there were one or two video baby monitor choices available and they were extremely pricey. We never got one but I always thought it would be so comforting to have one. Whenever we heard a peep or a squeak from them we’d tiptoe up to the room, open the door as quietly as possible, and try to peek through the crack to see if everything was all right.

We’d do all this and 9 times out of 10 they were just making noises in their sleep and our checking on them would wake them up. This was frustrating and I always though a video baby monitor would have prevented all this and given us a great peace of mind. That’s why I was excited about the IZON View Wi-Fi Video Monitor with Night Vision.

This little camera is quite powerful and is perfect for anyone looking for a high-tech baby monitor or who wants something to monitor your home or office while away. I love that it connects to it’s base magnetically so you can remove it completely or tilt it any which way. You can also use the screws included to hang it from the ceiling.

Izon View TiiltHere are just some of its features:

  • Sends push notifications to your mobile device when noise or motion occurs
  • Live stream to your iOS device over 4G, LTE, 3G, Edge or Wireless Network
  • IR LED’s on the front of the camera offer enhanced night vision
  • Easy to use iOS app
  • Schedule monitoring- you can set it to turn it off and on at specific times
  • For use anywhere in the home or office – set it on a flat surface or mount it to the ceiling
  • Can view through multiple devices
  • Sleek and trendy design

Setting up the IZON View was pretty easy. I took it out of the box, plugged it in, and downloaded the app. The app then asked me to create an account. After that was done I waited about 2 minutes or so for a verification code to come through my email. Once I typed it into the app the screen turned into a QR code. I followed the detailed instructions and held the QR code up to the the IZON camera. It read the code and then after another minute or two it was up and running.

Here’s a look at how clear the picture is. Both Logan and Yoshi wanted to demonstrate:

Izon View Monitor Review

I love that it offers live streaming that you can watch the stream from any where in the world. It may be a second or so slow at times but it offers a very clear video where you can see lots of detail. You can also record a 30 second clip while streaming live. Here’s a video I made of a live stream of Yoshi:

Also, when you set the app to alert you of noise or motion it will record a clip and it will notify you through a push notification. You can watch the clip immediately by clicking “Launch” or watch it later and just close the notification.

Here’s a video showing how the alerts work and a playback of one of the videos the monitor automatically took:

It records really well at night too. Here’s a couple of screenshots of me in the dark. The first is around 8 pm where I thought it was pretty dark in the house. I was impressed with the clarity of the picture.

Izon View EveningThis second photo really shows the night vision. It was taken about 11 pm and was pitch dark outside. The picture was clear and I could easily see myself and the items on the dining room table behind me.

I also like that you can adjust the noise and motion sensitivity levels and motion detection area.

Izon View Motion Sensitivity

Izon View Motion Detection AreaI was impressed to find that you can store up to 100 events in the STEM Cloud. It is important to note that the alerts will be deleted from the STEM Cloud in 100 hours unless the padlock icon is pressed and turns green. With the View you receive 25 free videos every 24 hours. If you think you may hit this limit before you want to it’s simple to turn down the sensitivity levels or turn them off completely when videos are not needed.

The IZON View is wonderful and we recommend it to anyone looking for a high-tech and helpful baby monitor or to those who need to monitor their home or office from anywhere in the world. It’s easy to use, full of fantastic features, and the app is user-friendly making it simple to keep an eye on the things you care for.

What a wonderful device. I would love to have one of these especially when I am alone and hear noises in the house.

40 years ago there were no baby monitors, just the quiet checking up (and sometimes waking up the kid). This looks very high tech.

This would be a wonderful item for any parent to own. The night vision would be such a plus.

This is a very nice Wi Fi video monitor with night vision. I would love to have one of these to help my sister with my nephew who is a special needs child. I think she needs to get this monitor. I will tell her about it.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
