How To Find Lost Luggage {Hint: It Works For Phones & Other Valuables Too}

Have you ever lost luggage? You’re standing at the baggage carousel and all of the luggage is circling around & around, your bag never shows up, and your stomach drops. Or what about your phone?

Homing Pin Starter Pack

HomingPIN products pictured received.

There is always that moment of panic when you can’t find it. Often it turns up, but there are times when phones are left in cabs, lost while shopping, or disappear into thin air. All of your photos of your kids, your notes for work, and more, gone. Losing anything of value is a nightmare and that’s why I am excited to receive for review the HomingPIN Lost Property System & to receive tags & labels for review.

The HomingPIN system is brilliant and quite simple for consumers to use. You can attach the strong tags to your bags, a tag and keyring to your keys, and the labels to other valuables, like your phone, tablet, laptop, camera, etc.

Each tag and label has a unique identifier service (UIS) code on it that is “tagged” with your phone number and email address.

HomingPIN Luggage Code

HomingPIN PhoneWhen your luggage or other items are found at the lost property department at the airport, train station, taxi firm, hotel, ship, police station, etc. the finder simply goes online and enters the HomingPIN code. You are notified and can arrange to get your valuable items back.

I was impressed to learn that the UIS code number code system is integrated into airline baggage tracing systems and has been developed in conjunction with the International Airline Transport Association. Since the code is unique, as soon as it is entered into the baggage tracing system you are contacted that your lost luggage has been found by text and email.

It’s important to note that when you purchase the HomingPIN tags and stickers, you must activate them or your items will not be able to be located. Also – each bag loop has separate code but the codes on the stickers are the same. So be sure sure to activate each bag loop individually.

HomingPIN Tag

You can activate them online by going to the HomingPIN site and entering the code number. Follow the steps from there to input your contact info, and then attach the loops to your luggage and the stickers to your phone, tablet, laptop, and more.

There is also a HomingPIN app where you can upload your boarding pass, describe your item you want to track & photograph it, and scan baggage tag receipts.

It’s a very affordable system at only $10 for the Starter Set which includes: 1 loop & tag, 1 keyring, and 4 stickers, and the Standard Set is only $20 for: 3 loops & tags, 1 keyring, & 12 stickers. And all packs come with a 12 month subscription included. Thereafter there it’s $8 a year to keep them activated.

HomingPIN is perfect for anyone who never wants to deal with lost luggage or other items again. It’s simple way to get back your lost property and it will give you peace of mind to know your luggage won’t be one of the 21 million bags lost this year.

    I would love this!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
