Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat Review

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

You set your thermostat a couple degrees cooler before bed, this is great, it saves money, and that’s a wonderful thing.

Wi_Fi_Smart_Thermostat Blue

Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat received.

However, getting out of bed in the morning is a whole different story. That’s why I’m excited about the Honeywell Wifi Smart Thermostat for review.

Before installing the Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat, Tésa would rather take any money saved from lowering the temperature and light it on fire to provide even the littlest amount of heat to help her not freeze as she got out of bed. Yes, she is a freeze baby. I personally would rather save the money versus lighting it on fire, so the programmable features of the Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat are awesome for us, and could be perfect for you too!

Now, we are able to set the times for the thermostat to automatically raise and lower the temperature based on the time of day, we can change the setting for every single day based on who gets up earliest and who goes to bed last. As if that’s not cool enough, you are even able to change the current settings from any internet connection . . . even your iPhone or Android phone. This means you can be sitting on the couch 10 feet away from your thermostat, pull out your phone, laptop, or tablet and change the temperature in the house. This is perfect for Tésa because she can warm up the house whenever she wants from anywhere, even from under the covers in bed.

There are many cool features of the Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat, starting with the easy installation, I am pretty handy, but I was a little tentative, so I was pleased when it was a breeze to hook up, but also program. The setup programming walks you right through by asking you questions for how you prefer the temps in your home at what times, keeping it nice and simple. You can do the programming on the actual unit, or (as long as your device is connected to your home WiFi) you can program it from the other side of the world.

Now the Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat does not have your average boring thermostat appearance, you have the ability to choose the background color of the thermostat. If your wall is scarlet red, you can make the thermostat scarlet red to match, or you can make it a nice accent gray color to show off some team spirit (Go Buckeyes!).

Honeywell WiFi Thermostat Color Choices

This thermostat is so smart; it will actually get to know your current furnace and AC unit. For example, let’s say you have your thermostat programmed to turn up to 70 degrees at 6pm, the thermostat will tell your furnace to fire up however early it needs to in order to be at 70 degrees at 6pm, each furnace is different some may require 30 minutes to adjust and others only 10 minutes, the Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat knows and acts accordingly. The communication with your furnace doesn’t stop there, this thermostat is able to alert you when your filter needs to change, or if your room temperature is too high or too low, you will get an notification sent to your mobile device alerting you of the change.

Honeywell Savings Report

Scheduling your heating and cooling periods so that your furnace/AC unit are working efficiently will save you money. The Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat will save your money, you can get an idea of how much on the Honeywell website. You are able to pick up the Honeywell WiFi Smart Thermostat at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Amazon and many more locations, it will cost you under $225, but odds are you will recoup that amount in the first 24 months of use and in the meantime you can change your home temperature from across the world, or on your couch.

Oh boy..talk about a perfect thermostat..this is it! This would definitely help in my house as fiance and I always fight in the winter time about what temp is a perfect temp for both of us to be comfortable. He works outside in the winter hauling pipe for the oil rigs and when he comes home he wants it to be 80-90 degrees inside while me on the other hand can survive just on 70-74.

This Thermostat would help me tremendously, just alone by the fact that i could control it remotely. All kidding aside, running after my almost 2 year old all day long, sometimes i just wanna lay and chill out on the couch after she falls asleep at night, and not having to get up to change the thermostat if it needed it, would be amazing lol. Aside of course, from being able to do it from away home.

  52. Christine says

    April 18, 2014 at 12:35 am

Right now I don’t have a thermostat at all. I know that sounds crazy but basically I turn the heat on or off. Usually I just keep it off, especially if I’m not home. There is still some heat (or air conditioning when I switch it over) all the time, but if I turn the blowers on it will give me more heat. It’s really weird.

So needless to say it’s hard to keep the temperature steady. And having a thermostat — especially one as high-tech as this one — would improve my quality of life. Plus save me money.

Hi, I think this would help me, because of people getting up at different time of the morning. And, I like the house to be cooler at night. If one could program it, they would be less likely to forget to turn it down. Thanks. Vicki.

It would help me save money because I live alone and it would save money if I could schedule to lower the temp when I’m at work or sleeping.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
