HomeRight SteamMachine Power Steamer Review

What is your least favorite room to clean in your house? I confess the bathroom is my nemesis.

Dave surprised me a few years ago by redoing our bathroom when we were away on a trip. It was a complete shock and he did a beautiful job with it. The only problem is the shower is lined with decorative ceramic tile, which looks very classy but is horrible to keep clean.

HomeRight SteamMachine

We had also had bad combination in the bathroom for ages. Our window wouldn’t open and we had a cheap bathroom fan so the humidity from the shower would just build up on the tile walls and get in the grout. No matter how hard I scrubbed I couldn’t get it clean.

That’s why I am excited about the HomeRight SteamMachine Power Steamer is a multi-purpose steamer that comes with 6 attachments which allow you to use it to remove wallpaper, sanitize hard floor surfaces, clean stovetops, grills, showers, sinks, and more.

It uses a high pressurized steam that leaves behind no chemical residue and kills 99% of all germs and bacteria.

I couldn’t wait to use the SteamMachine and our first project was our shower. Here’s a before picture of the grout in our bathtub.

SteamMachine Bathtub BeforeDave put the SteamMachine to the test and used a smaller nozzle to blast steam at the grout. We couldn’t believe it, in just under 1 minute it was clean!

SteamMachine Bathtub During

 And the after picture.

SteamMachine Bathtub AfterI’ve scrubbed and scrubbed that grout and the before picture was the best I could do to get it clean. I was so impressed I took a video of Dave using it so you can see how simple it is to use and how it actually works.

After tackling the shower tiles I tried it on the floor tiles. We had Kora & Logan’s double birthday party last week and we really needed some help getting those tiles party perfect. Here’s a before picture.

SteamMachine Tile FloorHere’s the after picture. Can you believe the difference it made? The grout is so much lighter and the tiles are shiny clean.

SteamMachine Tile Floor AfterThe SteamMachine did such a great job in our bathroom that I couldn’t wait to try it on our fireplace. We’ve never built a fire in our fireplace because not only is it very shallow but it’s gas and we never hooked it up or got logs for it. This turned out to be a good thing when 3 or 4 years ago one of the kids decided to show off their artistic talents on the fireplace bricks with a crayon. I’ve tried everything to get it off but crayon on brick is a tough one. I wanted to see what the SteamMachine could do to clean up the fireplace.

Here’s the before picture:

SteamMachine Fireplace BeforeAnd the after picture:

SteamMachine Fireplace AfterI can’t believe how quickly and easily it got rid of the crayon! In just a few minutes the crayon marks we had been looking at for years had disappeared.

Since the SteamMachine is advertised as the “absolute fastest and easiest way to remove wallpaper” and we have wallpaper in out stairway that’s been begging us to take it down for years, we put it to the test.

SteamMachine WallpaperHere’s a video of Dave using it to remove the wallpaper.

I couldn’t believe how the wallpaper just peeled right off and the glue came off just as easily. It’s amazing and we are excited at how quickly it worked. We’ll be able to have all of that wallpaper down in under 30 minutes. It had me wishing we had this machine back when we first moved in and our entire house was wallpaper. The time and aggravation we would have saved thanks to the SteamMachine would have been invaluable.

I highly recommend the SteamMachine to anyone looking to sanitize their home or office or to those simply looking for the most efficient way to remove wallpaper. It is easy to set up. Simply fill it with water. Turn it on. Wait about 7 minutes. Connect the appropriate attachment and steam away. The 8 foot hose and extenders provide a long reach and the built in wheels make it easy to move around. It holds up to 40 oz of water and can deliver steam for up to 45 minutes!

I love that it uses pressurized, high temperature water, to loosen dirt, grime, and kill bacteria. It’s a great way to sanitize those hard-to-clean places without using a lot of muscle or harsh chemicals. The HomeRight SteamMachine Power Steamer is one of my favorite cleaning products and now that I’ve started using it I can’t wait to find other things around the house to steam clean!

  231. Jessica W. says

    January 31, 2013 at 2:31 pm

My bathroom definitely. I’ve been able to keep up with nooks and crannies mostly everywhere else, except for the bathroom. The linoleum tiles, look like they’re getting dirty and a little bit is seeping out from the seams. And a regular steam mop doesn’t do any justice on trying to clean it. Bathroom tub too, it seems not to have a glaze, so the porousness of it traps dirt quicker, and it’s hard angles to scrub at.

I’d be steam cleaning our basement floors where they got flooded and stinky with laundry water and water heater leak. We have kids mold allergies so I’d love to try this! Also, love to try it for wallpaper removal…got the outer layer of some UUUuggggly paper off our bathroom walls. three months ago and then hit a wall, literally.
