Grand Traverse Resort & Spa Review: Part II

We love to travel, especially up to Traverse City, Michigan. It’s about 4 hours from our house and we find the area so beautiful that we try to get up there once a year or so.

Grand Traverse Resort The Grille

Accommodations and meals provided.

Recently we stayed at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. We had a wonderful time enjoying our room with a beautiful view, strolling the golf courses, browsing the shops, and relaxing at the beach club.

You can read about our thoughts on these features and amenities in our Grand Traverse Resort & Spa Review. In this Part II post, I’m excited to share the delicious dining options, a look at the indoor pool, and many blissful spa features.

During our visit we stopped into The Grille at the club house for a bite to eat. Randy had the jumbo chicken wings and I had the blue cheese potato chips while sitting outside overlooking the Golf Academy.

We enjoyed dining on the patio while the sun was shining and the wings and chips really hit the spot.

Dinner that night was at the Aerie Restaurant located on the 16th floor in the Tower. It offers panoramic views of the golf course and surrounding area. The restaurant is decorated elegantly with white table cloths and unique art work. they have done a wonderful job of making the restaurant feel small and intimate.

Randy and I shared the crab cake appetizer. The blueberry pineapple salsa and the pineapple honey Jack Daniel’s butter sauce was the perfect compliment to the crab cake.

Grand Traverse Resort Crab CakeFor his entrée Randy had scallops with caramelized corn risotto, jalapeno beurre blanc, and vanilla chorizo oil. He said it had just the right amount of heat.

Grand Traverse Resort ScallopsI had the salmon with hazelnut miso glaze, sautéed red cabbage, sweet pepper reduction, broccolini, and toasted hazelnuts. The salmon was tender and moist and full of flavor.

Grand Traverse Resort SalmonDessert was a shared cherry mascarpone bread pudding served warn with honey almond crème, toasted almond biscotti and lavender honey.

Grand Traverse Resort Bread PuddingLater in the trip, we each decided to get a massage. As we walked through the spa and health club area we were surprised by the space designated for it. There is a large pool just for the kids with a slide, splash area, and many pool games.

Grand Traverse Resort ArcadeRandy decided to get a relaxation massage and I decided on their cherry infused massage. We were both extremely pleased with our massage therapists Reese and Becki. We both have problems with our lower back and leg and both therapists knew exactly where our problem areas were and talked with us about what we needed to do to alleviate our pain. We were interested to learn that both women had degrees in medical massage.

Grand Traverse Resort Spa

Grand Traverse Resort MassageThe Spa has many different options for massages – bamboo massage, deep tissue, aromatherapy , “Grand” stone, and Mother to Be. They also have hydrotherapy and bodycare including Aromatic “Healing” Bath, Relaxing Mineral Salt Soak, Rain Shower Ritual, Cherry Honey Glow, Spa Grand Traverse Body Renewal and Stress Relief Wrap. They also provide many type of facials and nail care, besides hair artistry.

Our breakfast one morning was at the Sweetwater American Bistro. Randy had Salmon Benedict, which he said was amazing.

Grand Traverse Resort Salmon BenedictI had Stuffed French Toast made with King Hawaiian bread stuffed with cranberry citrus cream cheese and topped with powder sugar. It satisfied my sweet tooth.

Grand Traverse Resort Stuffed French ToastWe had an amazing time on this trip. The many dining options and elegant menus at the resort made our meals enjoyable and we looked forward to each one. The Spa was relaxing and rejuvenating. Now that we are back home we feel rested, relaxed, and ready to plan our next visit to Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. It truly is one our favorite summer vacation destinations and we recommend it to anyone looking to for a fantastic and memorable getaway.

The presentation of the food was amazing, who wouldn’t want to dine on that? I’ve never been to a Resort & Spa and would love to go some day with my husband, but he’s always so busy and is hard to get to go anywhere except Myrtle Beach.

Seriously not sure if I would enjoy the buffalo cheese potato chips or the healing bath mineral salt more. How fabulous.food portions seemed generous and that pool is awesome. Love the hoops and slide..I would be playing amongst the kids there. No need to go outdoors with a place like that.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
