Curious George’s Town App Review & Giveaway

Breaking news . . . our kids love the iPad! Breaking news part 2 . .  .we love when our kids do their chores without complaining!

Curious George's Town - Build Your Town!

This post is sponsored by Curious George’s Town

We’ve always wondered if there was a way to combine the two.

That’s why we are excited about Curious George’s Town. This app combines an instructive learning game with a customizable, parent created rewards chart. We will talk about both, but first let’s focus on the game.

Curious George’s Town is a very colorful and interactive game which will have your child collecting coins and building their own town to their own liking.

Your child will earn coins by completing certain tasks or jobs throughout the town. This teaches children some basic life skills, like working to earn coins (or working to receive payment) and making proper purchasing decisions. When kids save enough coins they can use them to buy items that they want to improve and build their town.

The activities, such as feeding the animals at the pet store, sorting books at the town library, cleaning and recycling at the park, and others, will help your child generate coins.

Curious George's Town - Clean the Park!Once children build up enough coins, they can buy additions to their town. They can buy houses, farms, roller coasters, animals and even a family of dinosaurs! Kids will love placing all of these items in the places they thing will be best for their town.

Curious George's Town - Buying ItemsNow for the part the parents will love! It’s logical to think that children will play this game and will want more coins. You have the option to create your own rewards chart consisting of three tasks that you wish to have your child complete daily, as a parent you decide if the chore is completed and your child will earn a coin for each daily task they complete.

This is such a great and innovative way to combine a fun learning game along with additional motivation to make sure that your child’s chores are done!

Curious George's Town - Parents Reward Chart

We love the creativity and ingenuity in this app. We’ve never seen an app with a rewards chart system and think it’s brilliant idea and so well done that we recommend Curious George’s Town App to anyone with children in their lives.

I love that it helps kids remember to do their chores (especially the littler ones) and they can see their rewards by looking at it. It’s so cute and is a really effective tool even making your own chart and using star stickers then allowing them to trade them in for something once they’ve earned enough stars.

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?
