Cleveland 3-Day for the Cure: Only 23 Days to Go!

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

The Cleveland 3 Day For The Cure is only 23 days away! I’m excited because Energizer selected me as their Keep Going Blogger. They are providing the participation fee and I’m sharing my preparation, training, and experience walking on the 3 Day.

Where did the time go?

FUNDRAISING:

I have exciting news! I recently received two donations from some amazing people last week:

  • Honey B. from The Honey B. Blog donated $50
  • Randy & Judy Heath from Federated Insurance donated $70

THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It means so much to me that people are contributing to such a fantastic cause. The Susan G. Komen 3- Day for the Cure asks each of it’s walkers to raise $2300 to participate in the event. That’s a lot of money, but the goal is to help advance breast cancer research. It’s not only the walkers, but people like Honey B. and Randy & Judy Heath that are allowing us to come that much closer to seeing the end of breast cancer.

TRAINING:

Last week I really struggled with fitting in training walks, but this week is already looking much better. I’ve had 2 good walks already this week and am looking forward to 3 more with big mileage.

It was interesting to learn that the 3-Day for the Cure training schedule requires cross-training as well. I would have thought it only focused on walking, but I’m happy to get the chance to do something different every couple of days.

On my cross-training days, I’ve been doing a number of at-home DVDs including a kettlebell program that I’ll post about in detail in the near future. I’ve also been using the Hit the Deck cards on my cross-training days when I need to squeeze in a few extra minutes of exercise here and there throughout the day.

KEEP GOING BLOGGER:

As 3-Day for the Cure events draw closer throughout the country, more and more Energizer Keep Going Bloggers are being announced. There are 9 of us now and 6 more will soon be joining us. You can visit the Energizer® site to learn about the Keep Going Bloggers. Our pictures are displayed along with a mini-bio describing each of us and they have also included links to each of our blogs. Stop by the site when you get a minute and learn more about the Keep Going Blogger walking, blogging, and tweeting near you.

As the Energizer Keep Going Blogger for Cleveland, I can’t wait for the walk to get here so I can finally meet all of the wonderful Cleveland walkers I’ve been interacting with online. It will be such a wonderful event and I’ll be doing my best to recount life on the 3-Day for the Cure for you.  I also plan to record the stories of the other walkers, to learn why they are walking, how they got there, and what they are feeling at the event itself.

I hope to spread the welcome I’ve received as a first time 3-Day for the Cure walker, to give you the feeling of daily life at the event, and to pass along encouragement so you will go for it and walk next year.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
