Cedar Point Hotel Breakers Review

We recently were given tickets and accommodations to Cedar Point for Halloweekends and stayed the night at Hotel Breakers.

I remember when I was little my sister and I would travel from Michigan to Cedar Point with my grandparents. We went a few times and when we did we stayed in Hotel Breakers. It was so long ago and I was really young so the only thing I remember is how easy it was to go up to our hotel room any time we needed. I remember thinking how great that was and I was really looking forward to experiencing that convenience again.

Since becoming parents we haven’t had the chance to stay at Hotel Breakers again until now. Whenever we visited in the past we would get up really early, make the 2 1/2 hour drive to Cedar Point, arrive, park, have fun for a few hours, and then have to pack ourselves all back into the car for the long ride back. It’s always been worth it and we’ve had a great time every time we’ve come to the park, but having the chance to stay overnight on property really made this trip much more enjoyable.

When our room was booked we were told that due to extensive renovations the pools, the restaurants, the gift shops, and lobby would all be inaccessible. The remodeling is exciting and we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to stay in one of the newly renovated rooms.

The improvement to the hotel rooms were nice. I thought the decor was much more whimsical then what was previously there.

Cedar Point Hotel Breakers RoomI thought the headboards were amazing and such a great idea. We all loved sleeping under Cedar Point’s “Giant Wheel.”

I really like that it was a short walk to the entrance and the view along the boardwalk was gorgeous.

Cedar Point Hotel Breakers Outdoor Pool

Cedar Point Hotel Breakers BeachAs for the remodel, I’m excited to see that in 2015 Hotel Breakers will be completely refurbished from the ground up. The re-imagined beach front hotel will feature a new grand entrance, an updated lobby and public areas, and completely renovated guest rooms.

Each guest room will feature an LCD TV, dorm-sized refrigerator, plus new bedding, decor, and furniture. The outdoor pool deck will be expanded and will include a water play area with zero depth entry, a hot tub, and new deck chairs and umbrellas. The five story rotunda will feature a full service Starbucks and a Surf Lounge bar with patio.

Other fantastic features of Hotel Breakers include:

  • Exclusive perks – like Early Entry one hour before the park opens to the general public
  • Being right on the beach, while we were there in October we didn’t get a chance to experience the beach however I know from past visits it’s beautiful and a great place to relax or play on a sunny summer day
  • Two minute walk to Cedar Point, Challenge Park, and Soak City
  • Complimentary Wifi
  • Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub
  • Ability to charge to your room throughout Cedar Point
  • Complimentary Cedar Point parking
  • Courtesy shuttle service on Cedar Point peninsula

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Breakers and are excited to see the changes coming to the hotel. We loved the convenience, perks, and amenities staying in the hotel offers and will definitely consider staying here again the next time we visit Cedar Point.

Encourage Kids To Think Outside The Box With Makey Makey »

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
