Bed Of Nails Review

Getting old stinks! I am sure my parents and in-laws will laugh when they see this, but I am in my mid-30’s and my back is always hurting me, every morning or whenever I do work around the house for too long.

Bed of Nails Review

I have tried (and really enjoy) massages, they are great, but sadly, the feeling is short lived.

I have tried and really enjoyed my acupuncture experience, it was great and reduced my pain for about a month, but it can get pretty pricey. That’s why I’m excited about Bed of Nails. Instead of paying for pricey acupuncture, the solution just might be the Bed of Nails.

Bed of Nails is a simple mat with thousands of rounded, but sharp plastic point.

In appearance it looks like a couple hundred soft spikes that you would have on the bottom of your golf shoes. These little discs are sharp, they will not cut you, but they are quite pointy. The objective is to simply lay the mat on the ground and then lay on top of it.

Bed of Nails ReviewsThe most popular position is to lie on your back, but you are not limited to lying only on your back. Here’s Logan demonstrating:

Bed of NailsI was surprised that the kids like it as much as I do. They’ll even say, “Come on Daddy, hurry up. I want a turn.”

You can lay on the mat with any problem area on it. For example I have laid my head, neck, and legs on the mat as well. The first couple of times using it, you may want to cover it with a light sheet, or wear a t-shirt. It will take some time to get used to it. For me, my lower back was fine with the sharpness of the “pins” but my upper back was pretty tender.

The Bed of Nails is based upon acupressure which is comparative to acupuncture. They both help to stimulate blood flow and promote circulation to select parts of the body. They also release endorphins and hormones to make you feel better. The Bed of Nails is an awesome aid for self-treatment. Also, like massage and acupuncture, the Bed of Nails may help the body get rid of toxins and therefore it’s recommended to drink water after using this.

Everybody reacts differently to the Bed of Nails because everyone’s body is unique. My personal experience has been interesting, fun and very positive. I am able to lay down for about 30 minutes now, and after laying on the Bed of Nails for about 10 minutes, I get a very warm and relaxed feeling, I can actually feel my pulse up and down my back, as my entire body warms up. The pins create an odd feeling of a “good pain.” I have only used the Bed of Nails in the evening, and I can tell you for certain that it helps relax me, and helps me sleep better too. Also, my back pain is not nearly as bad in the morning when I use it.

I was also interested to learn that consistent use of the Bed of Nails may help alleviate many ailments, such as:

  • Stress
  • Headache
  • Tiredness
  • Insomnia
  • Tension
  • Back Pain
  • Muscle Aches
  • Malaise

An added benefit is that the Bed of Nails may also help reduce the appearance of cellulite. The nails will create more blood flow to the area of which the Bed of Nails is used and this can help break down the fat groupings which cause cellulite, and also it assists the body in ridding itself of toxins which helps with many things.

There is also a Bed of Nails Pillow which is fantastic as well. It targets the neck and back of the head. I like using them together but you can always use them separate as well.

I recommend Bed of Nails to anyone who has done acupuncture or is interested in it. It’s a great way to get your circulation going and to receive some of the benefits of acupuncture right in your own home.

Such a cool idea. I suffer with 6 injured disks and all the muscle pain associated with them. Thanks so much for the heads-up on this product; I’ll definitely take a further look.

This looks like something that would actually not be very comfortable! But if it really helps with back pain, I’d be willing to try.

That actually looks interesting and does make some sense. It couldn’t hurt you with any side effects so I am all for anything that helps!

PS- when you get really old getting up off of the floor might be tough- does it work in a chair or bed?

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
