Balance Your Plate For An Easy & Delicious Dinner

I am a member of the Balance Your Plate team and helping spread the word about Stouffer’s Family-Size Lasagna With Meat & Sauce. As a team member, I receive product and incentives in exchange for participating in brand related activities.

Our family is a lot like many out there these days. While the kids are at school, Dave and I work hard all day and then when school is out we spend most of our afternoons and evenings busy with homework and running from one after school activity to another. Our weekends are filled with kids sporting events and house projects and more blog work. Also like many moms out there, it’s important to me to feed my family balanced meals.

That’s why I was very interested to learn about Nestle Balance Your Plate. It’s an educational campaign to help consumers build nutritious, delicious, and convenient meals that meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Visit the Balance Your Plate website to learn more.

Using inspiration from the Balance Your Plate program I baked a Stouffer’s Family-Size Lasagna with Meat & Sauce.

Stouffer's Family Size Lasagna

It was easy to make. Simply preheat the oven and when it’s ready take the lasagna out of the box and put it on a cookie sheet.

Stouffer's Frozen LasagnaNo need to poke holes in anything, just pop it in the oven for 75 minutes. Then take the plastic off and bake it for 5 more minutes and it’s ready to eat.

I used it as the “center of the plate.” Then I balanced the plate by adding a serving salad and a serving of green beans.Balance Your Plate StouffersWe have loved Stouffer’s Family-Size Lasagna with Meat & Sauce for years and it’s an easy way to serve my family a flavorful and filling meal. When served with salad and green beans it allows us to balance our plates.

Balance Your PlateWe have often commented over the years how it’s as delicious as lasagna you get at a restaurant too. I was interested to learn that in comparison to a serving of lasagna at a national midscale Italian restaurant the Stouffer’s Family-Size Lasagna with Meat & Sauce has less sodium, less saturated fat, and fewer calories.

Balance Your Plate For DinnerI’ve spent some time on the Nestle Balance Your Plate website and am impressed with the variety of features including:

  • Menu Plans
  • Tools & Resources
  • News & Research Highlights

I look forward to using this information going forward to make sure I’m serving my family balanced plates at dinnertime. I plan on continuing to serve Stouffer’s Family-Size Lasagna With Meat & Sauce as part of our balanced plates and will look for other frozen options as well.

I am a big fan of this lasagna. It makes such a delicious meal.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog originally got its name because my husband, Dave, and I had two kids born a year apart. Back then, we always joked that “the kids were too wired and we were too tired.”

Fast forward to today—those two kids are navigating college life (how did that happen so fast?!), and our house is a little quieter. But the story didn't stop there. Now that I'm a 50+ mom and an empty nester-in-training, the definition of 2 Wired 2 Tired has evolved.

Today I'm wired for new adventures, Disney magic, smart technology, and unforgettable travel experiences and I’m completely tired of bad gadgets, boring trips!

Whether you're a midlife mom looking for the ultimate 50+ Disney World guide, planning a relaxing Michigan Lake Life getaway, organizing a college dorm packing list, or just looking for a killer recipe to enjoy with a great book, you're in the right place.

The chaotic toddler years might be behind us, but the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here. Let's tackle this next exciting chapter together!
