Asus ZenPad S8 Review

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

As a busy parent I’m always looking for the best ways to stay connected while on the go. I know there are many other parents out there like me who want to maximize the time they spend with their kids but also have to be available for work while out and about.

Asus ZenPad S8 Review

ASUS ZenPad S8 received.

That’s why I was excited about the ASUS ZenPad S8. It’s a compact and portable tablet with a big screen that allows me to multitask easily while sitting the car line, waiting in line to buy groceries, or even at home after the kids have gone to bed.

The ASUS ZenPad S8 is 6.6 mm thick and has an 8 inch screen that is vivid and crisp. It can easily slip into your purse, backpack, or work bag.

Asus ZenPad S8 Thin

Asus ZenPad S8 Back

Asus ZenPad S8 Back IntelHaving two young kids and knowing that things sometimes happen, it makes me happy to know that the ZenPad S8 also has anti-scratch Gorilla Glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance which keeps it protected.

Asus ZenPad S8Since I use the tablet for work, I do a lot of reading on it. Have you ever noticed that your eyes get tired after reading on a tablet for awhile? Mine do. That’s why I was interested to learn that the ASUS Zen Pad S8 tries to prevent this by reducing blue light emissions up to 30% without disturbing the rest of the color balance. This means I can finish up my work when I need to, which makes me happy.

Not only does the ASUS ZenPad S8 help me work while on the go, I also like using it to watch movies and videos. They are crisp and clear with brilliant, rich colors. I thought it was fascinating to learn that it also has ASUS Tru2Life which automatically detects if a user is playing a video games, watching a video, looking at pictures, or browsing online and it adjusts the contrast accordingly for the best viewing experience.

Asus ZenPad S8 ColorsWhile watching movies and videos, I’ve noticed that this tablet sounds great too. This is thanks to the DTS-HD Premium Sound, SonicMaster Technology, and Dual Front Speakers.

Asus ZenPad S8 Speaker

Asus ZenPad S8 Speaker 2Not only that when using headphones or earbuds the ZenPad S8 delivers 5.1 channel virtual surround sound so you don’t miss a thing during the movie or video.

Asus ZenPad S8 EarBudsFor shutterbugs, the tablet comes with a 8MP Rear Camera with 15 Effect Modes and a 5MP Front Camera with 8 Effect Modes. Some of the modes include Lowlight, HDR, Beautification, Selfie, and more. There is also a Time Lapse, Time Rewind, and Smart Remove which deletes moving objects such as other people in the background of your photo.

Asus ZenPad S8 Camera

Asus ZenPad S8 Front CameraOne of my favorite features is ZenMotion. You can use it to create shortcuts through Touch Gestures to instantly open apps when the display is app. Some examples include:

  • Drawing a “c”to turn the camera on
  • Drawing a “w” to launch the internet browser
  • Drawing an “e” to go to your email
  • Flip the tablet over to make it silent
  • Tap the screen twice to wake it up

Browsing online is easy, responsive, and quick and the keyboard is nice to type on.

The folders and icons make it simple to find what you are looking for as well.

I recommend the ASUS ZenPad S8 to those who are looking for a new tablet. It’s compact, convenient, allows you to multitask while on the go or at home and it’s a lot of fun to use. There are many fantastic features packed into this 8-inch tablet and it would be a great gift too!

For its the size. Its not too small that it doesn’t feel like a tablet and it’s not too big that you don’t really want to take it anywhere with you.

I’d use it for twitter, facebook, YouTube and games….maybe a bit of Netflix too.

As for what I’d use it for most, I think I’d gift it to my husband, who could really use a tablet for travel.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog originally got its name because my husband, Dave, and I had two kids born a year apart. Back then, we always joked that “the kids were too wired and we were too tired.”

Fast forward to today—those two kids are navigating college life (how did that happen so fast?!), and our house is a little quieter. But the story didn't stop there. Now that I'm a 50+ mom and an empty nester-in-training, the definition of 2 Wired 2 Tired has evolved.

Today I'm wired for new adventures, Disney magic, smart technology, and unforgettable travel experiences and I’m completely tired of bad gadgets, boring trips!

Whether you're a midlife mom looking for the ultimate 50+ Disney World guide, planning a relaxing Michigan Lake Life getaway, organizing a college dorm packing list, or just looking for a killer recipe to enjoy with a great book, you're in the right place.

The chaotic toddler years might be behind us, but the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here. Let's tackle this next exciting chapter together!
