AdoramaPix Photo Book Review

This fall Randy and I decided to gather up our travel gear and take a three week road trip through Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. We are drawn towards nature. Our first stop was Lake Odessa in Iowa, where we saw our first Golden Eagle. Next was the Crane Trust Nature Center in Grandville, Nebraska, where we hoped to see Sandhill Cranes, but had no luck.

Denver was our next stop. While parked by the side of the road taking pictures of the mountains, we heard frogs croaking. We could not figure out how it could be frogs when there was no water and the sound was getting louder. We looked up and saw a flock of Sandhill Cranes overhead!

While in Denver we stopped at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Refuge. I had hoped to see prairie dogs while on this trip. I certainly saw them at this spot, along with deer, buffalo, coyote and more birds than we could name. Then we were on to Moab, Utah, to see arches, natural bridges, and Glen Canyon. Breathtaking scenery everywhere we looked. The highlight of the trip was a hot air balloon ride over the colorful turrets  and deep canyons of the area surrounding Moab.

We were than onto San Antonia, Texas.  We had heard amazing things about it for years and it lived up to all our expectations.

Our only problem was what to do with the thousands of pictures we had taken. We could just leave them on the drive and look at them whenever the screensaver happened to pop them up. Or we could put them in a book that’s why I was excited to be about AdoramaPix Photo Book.
I have used other companies before so I was glad of the opportunity to compare. AdoramaPix has an immediate advantage over the other company. On their website is a video of how to use their program. I know in the past with other photobook companies I would almost finish a book and then realize the other features the website had. With AdoramaPix, by watching the video, I knew exactly how to insert text, move pictures around, add frames, borders and stickers.

I immediately got started. I like taking my time when creating a book. I download a few pictures, drop them into pages to see what they look like. AdoramaPix made it easy to move pictures around to see how they looked the best and to decide if I wanted to use one of their themes or my own.
Adorama Reviews
I decided not to use one of their themed books, but rather to create my own. I liked the flexibility it provided me. After I inserted all my pictures I then thought I would use my own pictures as a backgrounds, but they had so many good choices I used theirs instead.

Once my backgrounds were done I once more went through the selected pictures to see if I wanted to add borders or shadows and if so what color they should be. Then I went through their frames to see if I could give an unique look to any of my pictures.

The last thing I did was to look over their stickers. I wanted to find some that were relatable to our trip.  I used some of theirs and a couple of my own pictures. All I did was reduce the opacity. The choices of backgrounds, borders and stickers are enormous so I had no problem compiling a book that absolutely met my taste.

The final project reminded me of a scrapbook without having to do all the cutting and gluing.

One other feature I wanted to mentions about AdoramaPix is the fact that they will color correct your pictures if you like.  Just click the box when ordering.

I sent my order out and within four days it was sitting on my porch. I am very impressed. I love the lay flat design. I had done a panoramic shot that I put on both the front and back cover. Because of its lay flat design, it fits perfectly and looks great. The archival paper is thick and gives it a feel of a professionally made book.

It’s a book that we can proudly show to visitors so that they can get a taste of our vacation without having to sit through hundreds of photos.

I have never made a scrapbook or a photobook, but this makes me want to try! Really nice!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
