I love New York City. I visited once a few years ago and was completely blown away by the city. I’d love to go back someday and to bring the family with me. There is just so much to see and do and so many amazing places to stay! That’s why I’m excited to share with you this guest post today.

Picking the right hotel can make or break a vacation, and the right choice becomes even more important when traveling with kids. Even in space-scrapped New York you can find hotels with rooms large enough to fit the brood, plus family-friendly amenities.

The experts at NewYork.com have put together a list of the top family-friendly hotels in the city.

Affinia 50

New York Affinia FiftyA growing trend in the big apple are residential hotels which translates into ideal amenities for families. Affinia’s large suites provide a separate living area with sofa beds and often times a full kitchen allowing for meal-flexibility. Upon request are cribs, strollers and high chairs which makes baby and parent happy. Affinia Hotels recently teamed up with FreshDirect so guests can order fresh meals and snacks delivered directly to the hotel. When staying at the Midtown location you are also near top children’s retail stores and excellent kid-friendly packages are available. Don’t worry, when parents need to unwind the exquisitely redesigned second-floor Club Room.  155 E 50th St., from $289.

The Milburn

New York The MilburnThere’s good reason why the Milburn so often tops the lists of best affordable family hotels. The reasonably priced one-bedroom suites have a living room area with sofa bed and TV, as well as a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave comes in handy for late-night snacking or early breakfast for the kids. Guests of the hotel can utilize the children’s books and family movies, as well as PlayStations, during the stay free of charge. The neighborhood is equally family friendly only blocks away from Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History, Columbus Circle, the Time Warner Center and iconic Zabar’s.  242 W 76th St., from $279.

Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC

New York GansevoortThis Gansevoort hotel manages to cater equally to kids and parents. For the little ones complimentary cribs, diapers and bath amenities, as well as Nintendo Wii are available, and for the adults the provocateur nightclub and the Exhale Spa are captivating. There’s a heated rooftop pool that’s open year-round with the safety of a lifeguard and sweeping views of the skyline. With nine-foot ceilings, a king bed, spacious bathrooms and the option of an adjoining room the suites are especially accommodating for families. The neighborhood also appeals to the masses with a mix of nature on the High Line and the Hudson River, retail therapy and inviting restaurants. 18 Ninth Ave., from $365

The Hotel Beacon

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
