The Honda Pilot – Santa’s “Little” Helper

I love driving new cars. Whether they are someone else’s or we get the chance to test drive them here for the blog. It’s fun being able to checkout all the key features and comfort level before buying.

Honda Pilot provided for a week’s test drive.

That’s why I was excited about the Honda Pilo. It is an incredible, tech’d up & hulking SUV. So of course I loved it. There are so many things to talk about regarding the vehicle: storage, 3 rows and did I mention storage?

We had a chance to put all that storage to work over that last week. In doing so, we had an opportunity to call the Honda Pilot “little” something it is never called.

There aren’t too many SUVs that would consider the Pilot little. However, this December, we put the 2016 Honda Pilot to work as Santa’s Little Helper!

Toys For Tots Volunteer

As a family with growing kids, we try hard to get them involved in giving back to the community. Christmas is a great time to do that, and to show the kids that Christmas is more about giving than receiving.

For the last couple of years we have volunteered to help out with our local Toys For Tots location. It is an incredible experience and we went to help sort toys, and fulfill shopping lists. Last year we learned that they also need drivers to go to local collection areas and collect all the donations.

We figured we would put the Santa hat on the Honda Pilot and go to work! As a Toys For Tots volunteer we stopped by 3 locations, a local Fire Department, a local business and a 5 Below. We loaded the Pilot up. It is truly remarkable how giving and charitable the communities can be. We had such a huge delivery, and that was just one trip.

Giving back can be fun and rewarding. We were able to witness first hand how amazing people can be when thinking of the kids who may not be as fortunate, or who may not have any presents under the tree. Toys For Tots is a great organization that couldn’t run without volunteers.

I HIGHLY suggest you look into it as a volunteering option. We have done Toys For Tots in different cities and there are 2 things that really stand out to me.

Communities are very giving, and there is a lot of need out there.

Take some time out of your schedule, take your family and volunteer. A lot of times it is even more valuable than just writing a check, which I’m certain is appreciated, but helping out in person is priceless.

The Redesigned Honda Pilot

Now lets talk about Santa’s Little Helper for Toys For Tots! First off, the Honda Pilot has room for all 8 of Santa’s Reindeer (or only 7 depending on the trim level), which means it is perfect for a big family. The middle and backseats are spacious and an entertainment dream with select options. When you add the AWD drive options, you get a beast of a vehicle that laughs at the snow as it takes your family around town.

The Honda Pilot was completely redesigned in 2016. The formerly slightly “boxy” SUV has been replaced with a smooth and good-looking exterior. It comes off as both sporty and stylish. When you add in the power and tech that assists the driver, you have an incredible option for a family ride.

The Honda Pilot blends in perfectly, whether you are off-roading or carpooling the soccer team to a game. I think it would look great under your tree this Christmas!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
