Over the weekend Dave, the kids, and I all went up to Michigan to run the SwampFoot 4 Mile with my sister and her kids. It was a big muddy mess and so much fun! The adults ran the 4 miles while Kora, Logan, and their cousins all ran the one mile kids run. We had lots of family there to cheer us on, take pictures, and laugh at us! Here’s some of our favorite photos.

It was lots of fun and everyone had a great time. My sister and I were incredibly proud of ourselves because we made it across the longest set of monkey bars I have ever seen! There were probably 35-40 rungs! It was tough but we were determined and we made it. We also weren’t that muddy yet since it was early in the course so the threat of falling into the water was a great motivator!

The kids all had a blast and have all been talking about doing it again sometime. They all mentioned that they liked it so much that they wished that the kids run was longer or that they had an option for a longer run.

The SwampFoot 4Mile mud run is one we will definitely be putting in our calendars for next year and we had so much fun we are hoping to find a few more before it gets too chilly.

What a great job! I like that they had a course for the kids too! Lots of great photos.

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
