Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Cleveland: Day 2

As an Amazon Associate/Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases.

The Susan G. Komen 3 Day For the Cure Day 2 is here and I’m excited to have been selected by Energizer as their Keep Going Blogger for Cleveland. They have provided my participation fee and I’m sharing my experiences on the walk.

I’ve heard that Day 2 is tougher than any other day because Day 1 you are so pumped and full of adrenaline it flies by and Day 3 isn’t too bad because the end is insight.

In all honesty, I didn’t think today was too bad it was just different. Yesterday I absolutely loved walking around downtown Cleveland yesterday and all the sights and photo opps made the morning a breeze. Today I definitely missed that.

What I did enjoy about today though ,was walking through the gorgeous neighborhoods and spending a lot of time walking with others. Once again I met so many wonderful and inspirational people.

I walked with Pete from www.WalkPeteWalk.com who is a 3-Day for the Cure veteran who is willing to share helpful advice about the walk as well as his daughter’s incredible story about her battle against breast cancer at a young age.

I walked with one woman who, a couple of years ago when her friend was diagnosed with breast cancer that March told her they would walk together in the 3-Day for the Cure in October – and they did it.

I walked with a survivor who told me – “I walk because I can.”

I was really happy to get into camp early today because there was no line for showers, I was able to hop right in. However, why I took a shower I’m not sure because once I walked all the way across camp to the shower, showered, walked  all the way back, and then tried to organize the few things in my tent – I felt like I had just came in off the route! No worries though, I didn’t realize you get 2 towels each day with towel service so I might just take a second shower tonight.

I’m hanging out now in the Energizer Tent and having a blast interacting with the other walkers. I’m sitting here writing this while sneaking peaks at the reaction as people are getting complimentary massages from the America Massage Therapy Association. It’s so fun to see everyone turn to jelly after a long day!

Once again I apologize for no video upload, for whatever reason my netbook internet connection is really slow on the uploads this weekend.

I did however, get the rest of the Day 1 photos uploaded and you can find them on my Facebook Page. It’s worth a look as there are over 100 more photos!

And there are a few photos of Day 2 on on this Facebook Page. It’s different from the one above because I had to upload these from my phone. More to come for Day 2, I promise!

I look forward to walking tomorrow and experiencing Closing Ceremony. I’ve haven’t heard much about it, the other walkers say it’s very emotional and touching. I’ll be sure to have my Kleenex ready.

I plan to have a blog post up on Monday with a Day 3 recap. Possibly in that post I will also have the links to all the videos and other photos I wasn’t able to upload, but I may put all that in a separate post. I also plan to upload all the photos in a Flickr account when I get back home so everyone can have access to them, not just those with Facebook pages – I’ll be sure to put the Flickr link in a post too.

Well, it’s 6 here and I here the dinner bell ringing. If it’s anywhere near as good as last night’s I’m itching to head over there.

I’ll be walking and tweeting (but not at the same time!) tomorrow @2Wired2Tired. Follow me there for up to the minute updates and incredible photos.

Oh, and I have my first blister. It’s small but yikes!

Hey there! I’m Tesa, the mom behind 2 Wired 2 Tired. The blog got its name because we have two kids born a year apart and my husband, Dave, and I always joked that "the kids were too wired and we were too tired!" :)

Fast forward a bit—now the kids are off to college (how did that happened so fast!) and since 2009, I’ve been blogging through the chaos, coffee in hand, finding the best in family, travel, and tech—because honestly, who has time for bad gadgets and boring trips?

So, whether you're searching for family travel inspiration, tech gadgets, or tips to enhance family life, you're in the right place because the fun (and the coffee) is always brewing around here!
